It's all an act, playing the part of the rebellious rock star, to my mind he's becoming a bit of a parody of himself. When Oasis first burst onto the scene he was like a breath of fresh air, at their peak he was the best frontman on the planet.
However they haven't made a decent record in over 10 years so all this posturing is getting a bit tiresome to be honest.
I said exactly the same to Mrs FS last night.
The bloke has turned into a sad old cliche really , its a difficult one though, Rock n Roll should be edgy and confrontational but as the Rock and Roll culture enters its 6th decade there is an increasing number of great practioners of the art who are still around thus making the lifestyle and music elements of the culture increasingly seperate.
Bono/Martin\Sting etc were never cutting edge rebellion rock and roll and have largely evolved from middle class safe teen rebellion into middle class safe middle aged hippies.
Oasis were working class youth rebellion and gallagher does not actually appear to have managed to leave that behind,
