Quote[/b] (BoyWonder2 @ May 23 2006,13:25)]I'd welcome Sir Les with open arms, he is someone that could fill in the gap left by the retirement of Goater.

I did mention him along with Dion Dublin as possible replacements to the Goat as both are strong, hold up the ball, decent in the air and would chip in with a few goals.
Thats the funniest thing I've read for ages....why not try and get Nat Lofthouse, he was good in his day.

Dublin would probably do a job though (not necessarily a good one though!)

I watched the soccer aid game today at craven cottage.....Les looked pretty sharp, sharper then the goat was for us anyways.

I reckon it could be a possibility!

The close season has truly arrived for me - the classic Les Ferdinand for Southend post that occurs every year. Thanks Napster!!

Have we been through the Matt Lockwood discussion yet?

But kind of as a joke...
Doing a decent job for Celtic when called upon by all accounts....

Napster isn't that old

Look at the end of the day I can belive some people would pass off Les at Southend, ok not in a playing sence but in a coaching role with bags of experience can only be a step forward especialy for Freddy and Lawson to learn from sombody who has been there and done it infront of large crowds and premiership and championship defenders!
