Would we need another coach?

His wages would be huge!

Why break up the Tilly And Brush partnership, when all has gone so well over the past two seasons?

We dont need someone to come in and upset the apple cart, just look back at what Stewart Robson did!

There's probably as much truth in this as Thurgood gaining first team football at QPR next season.

i know someone who was at socceraid and spoke to him
I don't buy this. He is not needed as a Coach as we already have Tilly/Brush and he is too old to play football. Dominoes is about his pace now!

I would assume that IF he did come, it would be as coach of the strikers under Brush, not the same situation as Robson who came in as first team coach.

Currently non-contract at Watford as player-coach (though that may have fininshed now)

Hmmm

This is an interesting one to contemplate

Ferdinand playing wise might be ok to use as a squad member at best, he hasnt played a full season for a while

Coaching wise could prove to be a valuable asset to the likes of freddy with his experience of playing higher level football

Notice Freddy made more progress this season than last season as he had the goat coaching him

I dont think he'd be after shed loads of money either as he's made enough money from football, this would surely just be a route for him to get his foot into the door of coaching

Les Ferdinand officially retired last season so hardly think he is going to be able to come out of retirement and play for us in the championship.....

This is rumor silly season and I will treat this rumor as the biggest load of b******s I have heard so far.

Not many "oldens" I'd welcome,  Shearer ! Absolutely, poss Sherringham if we get his son too, and of course a rejuvinated and hungry Stanley.

Les? is this the signing that is predicted to get us all sitting upright and taking notice of our intentions? excuse me why I lean back on the recliner for a kip.

Why not just have a full sweep of Soccer Aid and sign up Schmeichael, Dunga, Zola and Robbie Williams (for shirt sales!).

Napster in 'I know something that you don't' shocker? Never!!

Surely the same applies to Tilson's judge of players to the coaches that are hired. Brush seems to be a good bloke and hence they have worked well together.

A friend of mine used to play for QPR when Ferdinand was there (and Gerry Francis) and they said that he was alledgedly an ars*hole who used to tell the coach that he was going out that night so training the next day would start later... the caoch apparently was scared to upset the apple cart. Now ferdidnand would have been younger then but hardly a good role model?

You could argue that we could employ young more dedicated coaches... angell, stimson, collmore (lol) although experience would be potentially less comparatively speaking wth Les.

hmm think id prefer money to be spent on players?

I don't think it's that ridiculous as a coach but player coach seems a little unlikely. As a coach, there aren't many clubs where you'd get the opportunity to be, perhaps, third in charge of coaching as you might at Southend.

As a player it seems unlikely. Then again, he may have retired from the game due to not being able to play a full season at the level he wants. If Gus Poyet and Dennis Wise are talking about lacing their boots up for Swindon, I wouldn't be completely shocked to see a few cameo appearances.

Just for the crack, I'm going to be a lone voice of support on this one!

It's highly likely to be complete Twaddle. He's FAR too old to be any use anyway.

Whilst I'm with DtS on this one and don't believe a word of it. I think there is something to be said to get a famous ex prem player in as coach....

Tilly & Brush have shown they are excellent in scouting the lower leagues for players and seem to have good contacts at those levels.

Do they have the contacts at the higher level? We seemed to have a decent relationship with Charlton with the odd Charlton Yth players coming here on trial.

Perhaps this relationship could be developed with Lord Chrissy Powell coming this way, he'd fill the experiecned prem player and he must have built up lots of contacts bearing in mind he is the nicest an in football.......

I'd welcome Sir Les with open arms, he is someone that could fill in the gap left by the retirement of Goater.

I did mention him along with Dion Dublin as possible replacements to the Goat as both are strong, hold up the ball, decent in the air and would chip in with a few goals.
