dont understand why we're playing 4-3-3 away from home at leeds with one of our weakest teams we've fielded in the last 4 years... unless its 4-5-1 when we dont have the ball, like we did at chelsea?!

its an embarrassment!!! the whole thing, the team, the lack of transfers, the performances. apart from one or two games we havnt been good enough since late october in my opinion!

apart from one or two games we havnt been good enough since late october in my opinion!

I still stand by my opinion that Tilly's naive management in the home derby game totally screwed things up. That game really did deal us a hammer blow.

in this economic climate how can anyone justify spending money to go and watch this tripe? saturdays showing was total garbage. simple. now saturday cost me in the region of £60. a lot of people spend that much, some less, some more, but i for one won't keep doing it to watch these gutless performances. and i've been a shrimper for 14 years

This surely has to be the worst Southend side since the one that Tilly inherited. How Betsy can get in, even despite the injuries. Furlong out on loan is just mad.

Judging by most of the comments on here, that is exactly what people want.

However, the Management team + club can't be blamed for everything. injuries and suspensions combined with the return of loanees have conspired to produce the weakened team out tonight.

The one issue i would have, is that not so much why the club aren't willing to 'splash the cash' as stated earlier, but are they so fixated in their targets that we don't have back up targets in line when our first choice(s) get rejected? i.e no plan B or C.

and also think about tonight. to go to tonights game would probably cost in the region of £60-£80 maybe more, to travel 200+ miles up north on a cold tuesday to watch this. it's just not right. martin should put on something decent to reward the fans that have gone.

Why no Foran? why is Furlong not recalled?

I hope we conjure a miracle tonight, but off the field I have now had it with Ron Martin and his so called Board - or should that be bored? No money being spent on the Team and expecting us to pay to come and watch - don't slag off so called fair weather supporters - why should they pay to watch ? It's their choice and at the moment they are making the right choice.

For the first time I am being to believe that RM should be looking to sell up if he is not willing to put any money in to the Team - forget about the ground for a moment or it will be like Darlington's - lovely 'empty' ground in League 2 with a poor team.

RM : Don't bid for players that you can't afford the wages - don't bid for players where the owning club have just turned down a similar bid - it's all just publicity to keep us quiet and make it look like we are doing something. I look forward to your blog to see if we find out where the money from Chelski, ITV and various player sales has been spent - 'cause it sure has hell has not been spent on the most important thing - THE TEAM!!

I really don't blame Tilly and Brush for this as it truly appears their hands are tied.

When Furlong was sent out on loan we had Revell, Laurent, Freedman, Barnard and Walker all fit and Furlong was desperately in need of match fitness because with all those strikers he couldn't even get games for the reserves.

well like i said it would be a massive mistake in my opinion, but ron IS a business man like i said. if you own your own business, and one of your employees are not doing a decent job, you would have to come down on them. simple business.
