Question Lee Trundle

CC51DAS

President
Leeds don't look like renewing his loan - 1 goal in 10 games and not featured in the last 4 matches.

So the question is, as we are looking for an attacking left-sided midfielder could he do a job for us or is he past it ?

could definitely do a job, not sure if he would want to be stuck out on the wing, more likely to be a left sided striker in a 433 or a 442

Given that he is a centre forward, probably not.

Trundle is a striker. He was absolutely awesome at Swansea but that was a while ago now. Since leaving for Bristol City he hasn't really fulfilled his potential - a bit like Freddy really.

He is past it. Sadly the bloke looks lazy and dis-interested, he also thinks he is alot better then he is so i'm not sure if he would fancy the Hall. We aren't keeping him and the only cover for our front two is an unknown yank thats just left college. I think that says it all.

I'd have him here in a heartbeat - he's a joy to watch and would give Robinson or Barnard a hatful of chances to tuck away; he's as much a goal-maker as a goal-taker.

But this is all idle speculation, isn't it?!

Who has scored 10 reserve goals in 3 games or some amazing stat like that.
In fact, his name rang a bell, I hope he's not the American striker we had on trial a few months ago...

Mike Grella, can't see anything on SZ

Mike Grella, he has scored 5 in 2 i think. They were both against teams full of kids though, he has potential but not the experiance and this isn't the time to gain it

Yes it is Matt - not another fishing expedition I promise ( although I think one of the seasons started last Saturday btw).

Just noticed this on the Beeb and wasn't sure whether or not he'd be any good for us. Although he is a striker he is naturally left sided and could play a bit deeper I guess if we need him to. I am sure he wouldn't still be up to his old Swansea standard when he tormented the likes of Lewis Hunt, but I imagine he would still have the beating of most defenders at this level and be good for set pieces, corners etc.

As for the cost - well if we made the play-offs people would say he was a good investment.

As long as you don't require him to beat defenders..... or tackle back.....or run

Could do a job

That bad eh ?

Well I will bow to your superior knowledge

Do you think you are going to make the play-offs, what with your problems up front ? some tricky fixtures left for you but on paper you have a lot of winnable games coming up

Not trying to be funny with you mate, i and the vast majority have been dissapointed. He shows touches of quality but doesn't look like his heart is really in it.

We HAVE to make the play-offs and i think we will, only to make it to the final and more heartache. There are only really three players that make us any better then the majority if this league and the worry is that if we don't go up we will lose them and be stuck.

No I know your not like that . You've been watching him and I haven't so will take on board what you say.

I suppose the only difference might be if he likes being a big fish in a small pool .

Well your experience from last year should help - plus you know that PBro and Millwall aren't all that and although we played a weakened team Scunny weren't much cop down here a couple of weeks ago.

Id like to see him, but to be honest there's not a lot of point. I dont see playoffs as viable so why spend the money on him to help us in mid table.

If Toellandback is right and he cant raise his game for Leeds he aint going to be motivated to play for us.

At the risk of repeating myself, i wouldn't get too excited. He isn't the player he once was it seems, if you have a pacey team playing for each other he maybe the one that rocks the boat.

I am prepared to eat humble pie if he signs and hits 10 goals ;)

He played reasonably well against us at Elland Road, he looked dangerous and still knows how to take a tumble to win a free kick.

If he'd been offered to us at the start of the season I would have said yes, but he's the type of player you have to build around so I would say no as a loan player.
