CHEMICO FC

Manager
Lee Sawyer training with Ado Den Haag of Hollland who play in the same league as Ajax,Feyernord,PSV Einhoven.Looks like they are going to sign him having a medical very soon training at boot camp.Great news for Lee and all the people that liked him at Southend Utd.

Chemico fc wish him the very best of luck. Colin.

Shame he never got a chance here in his best position in the middle of the park where he is most effective.:footballer::footballer:

Thanks for update, but please dont use Wee Birdie news, thats for Clunimore only.

Is a shame he never lived up to his potential but lets see if he can find success over there.

Steve Mclaren won it the league with Twente so that shows how good it must be

Still must be better playing against Ajax et al than Burton and Morcambe.

Good luck Lee - I wish he was still with us but it is not to be .......... perhaps we will sign him again next year in Division 3 ........... and he can link up with Moussa! Or am I dreaming ..........

That's a random one, I wonder how they discovered him. Good luck to him though, fresh start and all that. Can't imagine him speaking much Dutch somehow. :dim:

You dont have to be able to speak dutch as long as you put on a dutch accent.

Waste of a talent. Don't think we really used him correctly. He is clearly a tidy player so I hope he does well.

Im really disappointed that Sturrock has let Lee Sawyer go he seemed very versatile you could play him on either wing or just behind the front two and if it came to it you could put him in the middle.

Thoughts ?

Welcome clio. I don't think Paul Sturrock ever saw the best of Lee Sawyer. He was probably the best midfield runner with the ball I have seen at Roots Hall for Years. But when I went to training, he never stood out. Apparently P.S. used to get annoyed that Sawyer sometimes didn't follow instructions. I still feel that he has a future in our football league. If used correctly with a manager that believes in him.

Sawyer was a very one-dimensional player (but a thrilling one at that). Unfortunately he was never going to fit into Sturrocks system and didn't seem willing to learn a new position/different way of playing. He would have been a great sub at times though, and so that was slightly frustrating. all the best Lee.

Really sad to see him go - first saw him at Yeovil on a mudshite of a pitch in (Oct., 2008) where he seemed to have more time and composure on the ball than anyone else. I was hoping for great things from young Lee and saw glimpses intermittently, eg. nice moments against Hereford when we tanked them 4-0 (in March 2011) at the Hall. They were few and far between unfortunately - is it down to him, what was going on in his life outside football or just bad luck with manager/coaches who didn't give him the role he wanted? The answer, as ever, will remain written on the wind.

Quite right old chap.

Sturrock signed Sawyer last year but was probably not 'his' signing. Sturrock never gave him a run in the team or played him in the centre which is his best position.

He would have caused all sorts of problems running at the opposition in the fourth division but unfortuna.tely we are not that attack minded and Sturrock is more intersted in having a back four and two defensive minded midfielders.

How Ferdinand can get into the team ahead of Sawyer is an utter mystery.

You do have to ask why no manager in the UK at least values Sawyer as much as some of our fans do. It may be because they see him week in and week out and opinions on here are based on a loan appearance 4 years ago. Who knows.

Personally think he flattered to deceive.

RE Lee Sawyer

Lee signed for Woking fc tonight for 1 year contract, done well out at den hagg went to there boot camp not many players make that but they need to of load 2 players before he may have a chance still.Coach wants him but its all about money as you all know.We will have to see watch this space again. The coach at Woking fc wants to build his team round him in the middle of the park.

Good luck Lee. Colin Chemico fc.
