Indeed, so maybe not the terrible past it player some claim he is. Will be interesting to see how he gets on over the next few weeks.

Jack Payne has been found out though. Three tasty starting performances and then opponents saw him in videos and worked out how to deal with him.
At the moment he is better suited against tired teams ie an impact sub, as long as the instructions of , "when the little one comes on ".like bury, are forgotten

Agreed, Payne was great first couple of games but has been pretty much ineffective ever since. Always said he has to show he can deliver conistently but so far he is far from that, but its early days. Hoping he isnt another Sawyer, looks like he should be good without actually providing any end product.

Certainly dont see the decision to not play Payne as a failing on Phil Browns part, many people dont include him in their pre game team selections so he is far from convincing many fans.

If Barnard carrys on as he has started at Stevenage then he may have some egg on his face, especially if they pass us.
