He wouldn't have to take a pay cut, for the next season at least. Southampton will have to pay up his contract if they let him leave on a free to take a contract elsewhere, or heavily subsidise his wage if he goes out on loan.
It'll be a different story in a years time when that bumper deal comes to an end.

Lee was entertaining and better than Div 2 standard by a good distance; I am assuming he still is and if we can afford it I would welcome him back although I am not sure he is the pacey front runner we need to complement BBBC and Fred.

Huh ? Im sure you are making a point about something here. No idea what it is other than calling other people idiots, which has an element of irony.

Said earlier, he was a great goalscorer and Id welcome him back, but I never actually enjoyed watching him. The way he constantly backed into defenders and gave away free kicks just frustrated me.
A good player, but not one I found entertaining to be honest.
