Latest New on THEEEEEO! not good!

This has got me thinking, over the years have we had more success(on the pitch / Transfer income) with players picked up from teams higher up the league or from those below.

Higher: Colly, Ansah, (although I don't think we "got our money back") Powell, Moody, Maher, Barrett
Lower: Freddie, Gower, Hooper, Crown, Angell, Butler, Garner , Lee, Royce, Tilson , Austin

I am pretty sure that we have had more failures from players who have dropped down , as opposed to those who have moved up (Mickey Welsh and that load of jokers around the time of Livett excepted)

Whoever we get in, we need to get them in BEFORE the season starts ideally, that way, the players can gel together better and be fully prepared for the new season, last minute deals and loanees do not help our team out, as we have to include them in our team and it affected our form in a way, you saw how we played in the last 10 or so games in the last season, we played well because our team was gelling well and getting used to the way that each other play, which is vital in football imo.
We need the following...

2 Centre-backs (one for competition and cover)
1 Left-Back (at least)
1 Right-Back (possibly?)
1 Winger (Gone are the days of strikers playing on the wings methinks)

Theo is a prime investment opportunity - should get him in - 20 yo - always going to get your money back -

I agree with that. He's got better as he's progressed with Hereford and us, is so young and will only get better. If he bangs in 15-20 goals this season for them, whilst our strikers sit on the injury table, then it'll massive egg on face for us yet again after Hoops last season.
