Sounds like more sabre rattling to me, further on in the article he then says he would be willing to listen to Sainsburys and even says he would prefer it goes to them. Mr Bates is no stranger to using the Echo to try to move things along and guess this is more of the same. Also would any new buyer be interested in owning a place that would likely have a future CPO placed on it?

But he says in the article that the site is not needed, Prospects college is now sited at Futures so the site is redundant. I don't like him saying that he's spoken to other prospective buyers, anyone shaping up to buy that site now is after holding a gun to Sainsbury's and the club's heads.

I'm also quite sure that the Mr Bates your dad knows from "prospective employee evenings etc" is rather different to the Mr Bates as refered to by McNasty. Bates is definitely not adverse to using the Echo to play the hard done by victim when I think the truth is rather different.

Get the CPO in place and throw the bloody man out!
