The PL League Boss⭐⭐🦐
After this Fridays match At Cheltenham, we’ve just five more away games left (all afternoon kick offs) and it looks like another season of going to the wire, so I’ve been looking into the train arrangements for these five games and thought it might be of interest to others.
The following is what I’ve found if you can find cheaper please let me know, I’ve suggested certain trains other trains may be dearer
Although the fares aren’t exactly Bargains as all seasoned rail travellers know, get in early for the cheaper tickets, prices will only go up.
All prices and times are from Londone from
Saturday 15 March 2008 HUDDERSFIELD Cheapest price £33.85 return from London
8.10 from Kings Cross (later trains more expensive) via Wakefield arrive 11.04
17.33 from Hudd arrives Kings Cross 20.36
Monday 24 March 2008 SWINDON Cheapest price £37.00 return from London
Bank Holiday Monday no cheap fares standard return so any train, about an hour from Paddington.
Saturday 5 April 2008 CREWE Cheapest price £27.00 return from London
Cheapest fare is on the 10.38 Euston gets into Crewe 13.23 if you want earlier trains it will cost £33.50
Return Crewe 17.31 Eston 20.03
Saturday 15 March 2008 CARLISLE Cheapest price £31.40 return from London
8.10 from Kings Cross via Leeds arrives Carlisle 13.29
Leave Carlisle 17.20 (think that’s doable from memory?) via Newcastle arrives Kings Cross 22.17
Saturday 15 March 2008 TRANMERE Cheapest price £28.00 return from London
I’ve not been to Tranmere by train before but train to Birkenhead I presume/
Trains out at 8.17 or 9.17 or 10.17 takes about 3 and a half hours
Retun 17.49 or 18.19 from Birkenhead
Swindon looks expensive, Tranmere and Carlisle don’t seem too bad, hope this helps.
