Hence our situation a few years back - we didn't "sign" all those players in a day or three, we already had them signed, we just didn't have them registered with the league. Once we'd cleared our own problems, we sent the registration forms off nd everyone's happy.

I was only expecting us to take over his contract until the end of the season (when I think his deal at Orient was to run out). I've been impressed by Laird from what I've seen. Seems to fit in well here. Good news.

A tie against Brentford is hardly big is it.

As it will only be the second(?) time this season we've had to give over the North Bank to the away fans, I'd suggest otherwise.

We might get our two biggest attendances of the season in consecutive games.

Hope this frees up young Woodyard to now go on loan and get some game time. Really liked what I saw of him from his few apperances. I think if he beefed up a bit and with getting a bit older nauturally I think he could get a real asset in a few years.

The extra Brentford fans won't make up those fans who can't be arsed to watch it though. I very much doubt the gate will be any more than if we played a league match, especially there's the big possibility that we're going to get thumped as Brentford are on fire.

Our second biggest attendance of the season so far has been York where there was 5,300.

Let's see if we beat that on Saturday.

The attendance was 3,000 when we played Brentford on a cold Tuesday in December in the JPT.

The other thing to remember is that season ticket holders don't pay for league games, they do for cup games. This makes cup games far better for cashflow than a league game.

Good solid player Laird, mixes it up well and gives us that box too box midfielder all teams need.

Great news hope he is OK for tomorrow but his mouth was a right state after the Gills match. He was in the Directors box while waiting for a medic and he didn't look like he had many teeth intact.
