Knee-jerk reactions.

Until Tuesday night if we lose......

It's all about P.M.A. (Positive Mental Attitude).

Come rain or shine, we should get behind the team, they've given us some great moments of glory, but now they need our support.

Our support can give them the lift they need.

Faith not fear ! !

It's becomig a right bone of contention for me, we lose a game our chairman, management, players suddenly aren't good enough or 'have lost the plot'.

I'm sick of reading that Matt Harrold is **** every three posts

I'm sick of reading about Flahavan's lack of height every three posts

I'm sick of reading that Tilson 'has lost the plot'

Haven't people learnt that you get nowhere by chopping and changing? 10 mangers in 10 years, 7 seasons in L2, countless mercenaries ******* the club dry, do you really want to go back to those days? The only way to get success to continuity and sorry to all the 'Tilson out' crew but you're talking out of your ***.

have you not learnt that we never get anywhere playing Harrold all the time? eh??????

i agree with everything apart from the matt harrold part. i was willing to give him a fresh start this season. yea its been 2 games but he has done f all. at orient he won no headers, lost every ball and was absolutly no goal threat. and from what i heard on the radio he wasnt much better at leeds.

Regarding Orient, you and I must have been watching different games. Harrold actually played really well up until McCormack's sending off, after which he was alone up front against four defenders and had no chance. He won plenty of headers and linked up the play well on occasions. He was certainly more of a goal threat than Hooper anyway, and that's coming from someone who rates Hooper highly.

Overall, I agree with Al. Don't get me wrong, obviously this messageboard is for debating and sometimes inevitably those debates get heated - nothing wrong with that. But some of the hysteria on here has been quite disturbing during the last week, particularly on the subject of the aforementioned Harrold. People seem to want to dig into him in practically every thread, even those that aren't remotely connected to him, and some of the comments have been downright pathetic at times. The saddest thing is that I get the impression some on here actually want to see Harrold fail just to massage their own self-righteous egos.

You've probably gathered by now that I'm one of the few on here who rates Harrold. I don't think he's a spectacular player by any means but equally well I think he contributes more than he is given credit for and has qualities our other strikers don't - good aerial ability, not afraid to get in where it hurts (look at his pre-season goals), wins quite a few free-kicks, good work rate.

Admittedly I think he's better suited to a Peter Crouch-esque cameo role from the bench, where he was quite effective last season (think in particular Norwich at home, West Brom away, Leicester at home and Burnley at home). He made quite a difference in those games as a sub and contributed to us winning several points.

However, now that Bradders had gone, Harrold is the only targetman we have left so it looks like he'll be getting a run of games from the start. I think we all acknowledged last season that we never gave Paynter much of a chance and some of the abuse from the stands contributed to him losing any confidence he might have had. We're only two games into the new season. Let's not destroy Harrold in the same way.

if you're so sick of it, why start a post on it when you know people are going to debate it again?

Oh, So what do you want to debate then?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, i fully acknowledge that but when every thread you read through comes back to Harrold/Paynter/Foran/Flahavan etc it just gets boring and in some cases completely unnecessary.

some advise if you dont like what your reading dont reply or even dont open it saves you alot of hassel,

And your not as happy clappy fan as you make out you are - you have your own rant and rave at the players on match day - and that a fact just like the Ginge being ****

Wonderful irony! A thread started to complain about the constant repetetive slagging of of players and management, ends up being hijacked by people repetetively slagging off players (well one player anyway). Mind you the good news is that SUFC Al is taking a bashing now too so at least we have a little variety in the debates

:)

I don't think it's about being "happy clappy", or "overly critical" thats the problem. I have my views, and I have people I disagree with, however I'll welcome any view thats well founded. If someone says Tilly should be sacked because he has no idea, then generally I'll have no respect for their opinion. if someone says Tilly should be sacked, and can actually demonstrate why, and show how we can be improved as a club with him leaving then agree or not, i'll respect their view.

Ironically, the two posters who seem to have the most extreme views probably contribute more to the opposing arguement. Wiggy, who's obviously a big Flahavan fan goes so OTT in her adoration, and is so scathing of any other keeper, that her posts become a bit of a joke, and can lead to people taking the opinion that she's a typical Flahavan fan. Similarly, Tony the kray only ever seems to post after a poor result (that's kept him busy lately) and therefore appears to be someone that revels in us doing badly, again, damaging his own arguement. Even when the euphoria of Tilly's early success' were still fresh in our minds, and most of us were feeling buoyant, TTK still found something to moan about, even if it was just a shirt!

In short, if people would be a bit more tolerant of others views, and give reasons for their own, then I'm sure we could all live together in peace and harmony (and pigs may fly! (NO Blueblood, that wasn't an excuse to start another Floyd pun fest.))

matt harrold is ****e though. lol :thump:

I personally think that we should give our 'strike' force a chance, Tilly does his best for the club and i think he is just trying to find the right pairing of strikers.

Maybe 'when' we hit a bit of form some players who aren't quite performing now may surprise a few people. I think if we are still struggling for goals after around 15 games of the season gone then there will be some cause for concern but not just yet.

I still have complete confidence in Tilly and all the players, even Harrold................... well actually

Walking out of the west stand after the borient game - i overheard an old lad talking to his mate: basically saying our season is down the pan and we're off to league 2....after only one bloody game!!! Whatever happened to optimism in footie

point a.) I don't reply but so many threads have been highjacked with abuse it's hard not to read it and point b.) that's a fact is it? You don't even know me!

I don't rant and rave at our players because it's counter productive. Ask anyone who knows me. :finger:

thanks for pointing that out mate! Proves my point down to a tea.
