Kevin Maher

I think they get all their info from the Press Association. Hence why every newspaper, ceefax and Sky were all claiming that Wayne Gray had been sent off in that game earlier in the season when he wasn't.

As for the topic, Maher has been fantastic but POTY for me is Barrett by a distance. He's simply inspirational.

Barrett by a distance at the moment. He's a lot calmer that our Kev, and just as determined to win. Maher's picked up some really silly bookings this season through his gob. I would say though that Kev has improved over the past few games and i would love to get promotion for him. He is loyal and decided to stay when he could have jumped ship over the past couple of years.

Indeed. He hasn't been booked since Yeovil back in November. Mark Bentley, on the other hand, seems to be picking up the cautions four "our Kev" ...

Thats a very interesting stat about Maher. Start of the season his bookings were just silly. Every week he'd seem to get booked for dissent. Its good to see that someone has had a word with him and he's learned to shut up.

He should have been booked against Scunthorpe though. He went off on one for a minute or two, following the referee. Was very lucky to get away with it really.

Thats because he tackles like a forward.

Quote[/b] (Suffolk Blue @ Feb. 19 2005,19:10)]Great battling performance today despite below-par contributions from:
- Maher; way below his usual excellent standard, gave the ball away today more than I've seen the rest of the season put together
and he still had the nerve to have a go at team-mates for doing the same thing.

But to be fair, he was all over the park, at one point, collecting the ball from Darryl at right-back position.

Now, I am inclined to believe those who were actually at the game but it does make you wonder whether there is a pool from which various media outlets get their information. I suppose they could have checked the official site?

I asked the lads in the car and round me at the time and everyone was convinced Maher took the second corner.
