For your information JAMESMUT , Harry Kewell has never retired,as i pointed out he has turned down a very lucrative offer to play in China ,also some very attractive offers from several clubs in Australia ,because he dosent want to be away from his family.he would like to continue his career in England and still has a lot to offer any club willing to sign him.

So he's able to work but chooses not to? Sounds like retirement to me Harry.

Jamesmut did you take the brain out of braintree, you try being away from your family for a year see how it feels. Hes a family man .loves his wife and children and chooses not to be away from them any longer, he was away from them for very long spells when he was playing in Turkey and also while he was here in Australia, good luck to the man because he loves his family, as for playing ,he has kept himself fit has trained and wants to play as he still has desires to represent Austalia again but cant unless he plays ,thats a stipulation on any player no matter how good they are that the Australian football federation makes on all Aussie players

Calm down Harry.:finger:

Good at his job. But yet again overlooked as for some reason the defensive part of football is unimportant.

Except he wasn't actually that good at the defensive part of his job. People sort of assumed he must be as he offered nothing (actually I think he was a negative influence) going forward. He lacked the positional discipline and got drawn to the ball too easily disrupting the defensive shape. That game DtS mentions at Cheltenham was truly horrific. Both Grant and Ferdinand were actually better at it when they played that role but Sturrock wanted them both further forward.

I'd probably take him over Harry Kewell though.
