Just got back...

well Byfield was sent off for Gills last night so his suspension should have a big say in their next results........dunno if it was straight red though or 2 yellas

Blimey... according to the FA's site, it says he's suspended for four matches!

FA Disciplinary pages - suspended players

What on earth did he do that warrants a four-match suspension?!

Our second 16 games gave us 27 points.
If our third sixteen games gets us anywhere near those marks then a top two finish is more than probable.
Blimey I didn't realise we were playing 48 games this year!

BBC Website:

Gills' hopes of getting back into it were ended when Darren Byfield was controversially sent off for heading the ball out of Rhys Evans' hands.

He has already been sent off once this season though so automatically you get one more game for a second occasion in a season I think?

Quote[/b] (C'mon you Blues @ Feb. 15 2006,11:46)]and as I've said before look at the number of home games Col U and Brentford have played. All their games in hand are away. In fact both have played 1 more game at home than us. It's really in our own hands. One thing about Tilly is he'll not panic.
I do fear though that one or two of our alleged easy games left at home have the potential to be a real banana skin.

Blackpool, Hartlepool or Gillingham spring immediately to mind.
Don't want to be a gloom monger, but I'd add Doncaster to that list, tho I disagree about Hartlepool.

The other point worth noting is that some of our rival's games left are against each other, and that's not including our games with Swans, Barnsley and the other lot. So the maximum points calculations we're all making may well be skewed by the fact that not all of the potntial points are available to everyone. It is imperative we don't lose those big games - thereby denying points from our rivals.

I think this league is too close to call at the moment, and I suspect the winners will simply be those who come good in April, the losers will be those who don't. It could still be anyone in the top 6 or 7 who ends up in the top 2. We just have the most to lose at the moment.

I don't agree with the comparison with the end of our previous good run. There was a lot of hype about that previous run, and therefore losing it seemed to be highly significant psychologically. This time round, there hasn't been much fuss made of our good run, and everyone knew last night was going to be a very hard game indeed, as Brentford definately owed us one. Therefore losing last night I don't think will knock the lads back much at all.

It'd be a real shame if we did miss out on automatic promotion. But playoffs would still be a remarkable achievement for us.

Good point well, made. Should make it easier to get more points though

... sounds a bit of a liability. Not worth a penny more than £25,000
