Jools Holland

Bluetonic

Banned
I like his early stuff. very witty.

Up the Junction is a particular favourite.

On his own with a piano, not my cup of tea really

I am not a fan of him at all....used to love Squeeze though...My friend thinks he is the dog's nuts for some reason.....You can't take it away from the show though he does have some great bands on there.

I see they are making "later" with Jools Holland live soon.

on New Year's Eve I mentioned to my mother-in-law that "Jools' New Year Hootenanny" wasn't actually live. She looked devastated, it was like I'd told a three year old that Santa doesn't exist.

I like the way he gives the more unconventional performers a platform. Think it was the New Year show were he had Seasick Steve on. He was fantastic. Never heard of him before.

It was indeed the 2007 NYE show. Seasick Steve was undoubtedly the highlight for me too.

I wish he would give the piano / rhythm and blues band crap a rest and let the guest bands get on with it.

... starting next week. There'll be a live show on Tuesday night for half an hour, and then an hour-long show on the following Friday night, which will be an extended version of the live show.

Adele, Gnarls Barkley and James Taylor are amongst the line-up for the first show next Tuesday.

Jools may be a bit of a prat at times, but go and see one of his live shows. You'll struggle to come away disappointed.

Spot on. We went and saw him at the Cliffs Pavilion just before I left for Spain not really knowing what to expect and came away in absolute awe as he had the auditorium on their feet from the very beginning. And Rico Rodriguez was among the entourage so we were even more impressed.

I know Jools Holland is not everyone's cup of char but music can be very personal; for instance I think that junkie Pete Doherty is a talentless prick ...
