January Transfer Window Thread 2020

I see Alex Woodward has gone from Peterborough to Tranmere, great signing for them, I wonder if we would of shown any interest in him if he’d jump at the chance to come back here ?

if

if hes not training and not attempting to be match fit then I am sure theres a case for breach of contract.. if I made no attempt to go to work every day eventually my employer would have a case to let me go... if he wants to be paid, surely at least he should be out training every day with the U23

Hence why I assume he is injured or told to stay away. I’m sure we used to get more info from the physio’s room than we do now.

Not surprised!. If we havn't signed anyone by this time next week, then very worrying times?.
To be fair when both Ron and Sol said they would like 6 I took it lightly as didn’t think that possible. So wouldn’t be worried if no one in next week, reality is that we are unlike
y to stay up so do we stick or twist. If those that matter believe we have no chance then we need to sell and get good prices and build for next year, even if that means selling the better players, realisticlly some wont stay if we go down so sell while we can get a better price but only if they the powers that be think we can’t stay up.

Let’s face bar one or two loanee’s we aren’t signing anyone. We are down, we would be getting the dregs of the dregs at this time of year if they were free and we would be lumbered with them probably until at least the end of next season.

It’s best we accept our fate, blood the hell out of the likes of Rush and the other youth on the periphery and get a good core of youngsters who are used to playing men’s football and kick on with bringing in more seasoned pro’s for a promotion push next year.

If we do that I fear for our league status.

We'd be relying on am almost total rebuild in the summer. The team would not be settled, we'd more than likely have a poor first season.

Blooding the youngsters in too early and in a team who are losing every week could actually hamper their progress. E.g. Already Bishops confidence is shot to pieces. I'm not sure he will ever recover.

To me we need to start building for next season now!

2020 Transfer Window? I reckon it could look a bit like this:

A no-nonsense central defender, a left-back (on loan) and a ball-winning midfielder seem to be core requirements for the current team.

Hopefully, by allowing our current loanees to return to their parent clubs and finalising an exit agreement with Ridgewell or even selling a player would enable the Chairman to give the green light to Sol Campbell to bring in 3 players to strengthen the spine of the team. Fingers crossed!

Sorry IloveShrimp…..duplication should be viewed as a form of flattery.

ps, note to self...read thread prior to adding to it....:Dunce:

Is there going to be more then? Ridgewell and Ndukwu I would assume.

Ndukwu has already gone, so not sure whats going on there .

Ridgewell.... Is he still under contract?...Is he still getting paid? I was told ages ago it had been cancelled but who knows.

As for another couple of names they are under contract and nobody can force them anywhere. Remember Theo refused Col U the first time but it worked out ok for all concerned.

If staff aren't being paid and considering our 9 points then i have no doubt what so ever plans have changed from 2 months ago and may well change by the day in January.

We are Southend united from the day you went through your first ever turnstyle you signed up for life....Nobody said it was going to be an afternoon tea dance at the Ritz.
