Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation January transfer window 2023

Transfer news
They have ALL been good enough for this league, and arguably L2 for most. I am, frankly, astonished that players such as Gus were playing semi pro, he has been a stand out performer in his first full time season. Noor is up there too. They are proof of the quality to be found and recruited. Goal scorers are more readily identified from stats than other outfield or gks.
Kacper is a natural leader, and Miley is a positive example type BUT we still are short of a " grab the game" and drive the team, player which I thought Neal was the closest to for several seasons.
Respectfully disagree in the grab the game type of player, Miley is doing that week in week out at the moment, beautiful screen player.

Hopefully if any do leave ,we wont let them go cheaply ,The day will come god willing when we can hold onto players and truly build and keep a team together.

I hate to think it, but everyone has a value.

We have 6-7 real sellable assets, it’s been a while since we had that.

I really hope we keep this group together but we must trust that the football dept have eyeballed possible replacements which we can turn a healthy profit on. This is how we survive (not 100% on Ron ).
hmmm 6 or 7 with resalable value and all from the lower leagues and accomplished with a shift of attitude and restructuring recruitment.

Who would have ever thought it possible?

Stans a fan of the Brentford " Continuous cycle " model............

Find, Bind, bring on and sell, and keep doing it

Personally only see Lopata as a high value sale asset for us and don't see him leaving since he almost forced a move to us remarkably.

Sure some clubs would take some of better players on a free as a gamble in higher leagues but would they pay for them? I'm not so sure.

tend to agree but Colin , Wreh maybe Lomas and Kensdale given a couple more seasons and they progress as i think they will ,they will have a very good resaleable price around their necks should other clubs come calling, Hopefully can add Wood and a few u18s to that list.

I’m confident that Lopata will stay until the end of the season. It will give him more time in the shop window and his value will increase.

I would hope that the management would have asked the question before forking out the money. Are you going to stay until the end of the season or are you going to disappear after a few months?

Given that if an offer does come in and it suits all parties then we’d accept it.

Orient, and I think maybe Cambridge, have already sent scouts to watch him.

They aren’t the only ones.

All three of our centre halves have had league clubs come and watch them so far this season, and Hobson had admirers last season too. Other players have had scouts watch them too.

Part of the reason that our three amigos, Stan & JS are watching countless games of football at every opportunity, is to keep that “whiteboard” full.

We have names for every single position, some we will look to bring in even if players don’t depart, some will be very high calibre players to bring in on loan that we couldn’t bring in permanently, and some that will be “replacements” for departures. Our footballing department is highly professional, and incredibly impressive. It’s something this Club has never seen before.

Whilst this is good to hear, we are totally ****ed if the embargo remains.

We are professional on the footballing side but led by an incompetent narcissist as a business.

I feel (although have no evidence) that we shall be able to keep the core of the side together as we go into February. I have big doubts that will be the case for next summer. A one shot chance of promotion with this present squad? Could be fun! Anyway, as BW2 has suggested, I take comfort in the fact that replacement players are already being lined up for any eventual departures.

Apart from the top 6 or so in the prem, it’s just life.

Stopped worrying about it many years ago, it does you no good. Any to leave will go when they go, and someone else will get the opportunity.

I thought embargoes stopped you registering/signing players, not extended contracts on existing players - I'm no expert though, so could be wrong on that

Unfortunately transfer embargoes means we can’t extend contracts at the moment. Isn’t that lovely?

Chances our best players get snapped up by FL clubs when the window opens?
Kensdale, Lopata, Hobson could all play in the league.
Undoubtedly the best players in this team (miley close).
With our well documented financial woes could be something to look out for.
Agree with the three names mentioned. All very sellable. Would name a few others as well. Lomas, GSM, Mooney and Colin (who is getting better by the week).

Other stand outs like Bridge, Noor, Taylor and Miley could potentially play higher but I doubt they have much resale value to be honest given age and past experience.

Incredible to think we could be selling any players though and not be struggling to give them away at the end of the season!
