Chances our best players get snapped up by FL clubs when the window opens?
Kensdale, Lopata, Hobson could all play in the league.
Undoubtedly the best players in this team (miley close).
With our well documented financial woes could be something to look out for.

Couldn’t agree more…but just who were John Still and Stan looking at today at Cheshunt vs Havant and W….eyeing replacements?

Stan and John engaging in succession planning. As all good organisations do it. You know it makes sense. But for the time being let's just enjoy what we have at present. The days of Stan and Freddie (Mk 1) were halcyon days indeed but passed so quickly. Savour being in the play offs for the first time in a long time. UTB

They are all part of the project and all are key to our promotion push. I guess if Ron wants the balance the books he will sell but I think Stan, Kev etc will be puttinh huge pressure on Ron to keep the squad as it is. Also, the whole squad is enjoying this season and the team bonding, now sure they would want to move, even up to L2
It's not beyond the realms of possibility to get promoted this season

I think that’s the model we’re trying to follow, develop young talent and sell on for a profit. Therefore I’d expect we could lose one or two in January, and agree it would be prudent to have potential replacements lined up.

See the business model side of this, absolutely.
Remembering the effect Lopata leaving last season had on the team, would hate for a similar effect this year. We are rolling at the moment and could be way up there come January.

I hate to think it, but everyone has a value.

We have 6-7 real sellable assets, it’s been a while since we had that.

I really hope we keep this group together but we must trust that the football dept have eyeballed possible replacements which we can turn a healthy profit on. This is how we survive (not 100% on Ron ).

I hope you are wrong!
But in my heart of hearts I fear you may be right.
I hope they have bought into the “Kevalution” and will stick around.

Agreed about Lopata, I think right now losing either him or Miley would be most detrimental, if it gets to Jan and we’re in the promotion mix I’d do anything to hold on to both for sure. Anyone else I think could potentially be replaced without so much of a negative effect.

We should be looking to sign Hobson onto a new deal. I reckon a few clubs will be sniffing around him if they are not already. Doesn’t his contract come to an end at the end of the season?
Was just looking at who's contracts are up at the end of this season. Hobson is definitely attracting league clubs watching him.

I'd imagine just as we have a whiteboard with names of targets on, on the reverse is a list of our current players with their saleable transfer value.

Would prefer any replacements are in before we sell. Some clubs see money from a sale and up their price.

The good news is that Louis Lomas is a ready-made replacement for any of the three central defenders that depart January.

I'm reminded of Diggers post last season, as a D&R supporter he made some good comments regarding the problem that all teams in the national league face that of continuous rebuilding of their teams ! losing managers and players to league clubs plus of course better off rivals !
As I see it there's 4 or 5 clubs in the division with money/ backers to keep hold of a team to possible promotion, and sadly we are not in that group .
New contracts for Hobson , Wreh and Collin should be a priority now imo

They have ALL been good enough for this league, and arguably L2 for most. I am, frankly, astonished that players such as Gus were playing semi pro, he has been a stand out performer in his first full time season. Noor is up there too. They are proof of the quality to be found and recruited. Goal scorers are more readily identified from stats than other outfield or gks.
Kacper is a natural leader, and Miley is a positive example type BUT we still are short of a " grab the game" and drive the team, player which I thought Neal was the closest to for several seasons.
