Jade Goody - Cancer Has Spread

She will always hold a special place in my heart for her casual racism in 'Celebrity Big Brother'.

Apparently, as Southend Lady alluded to in an earlier post, more young women are having smear tests as a reaction to Miss Goody's cancer. This is undoubtedly a good thing, but am I the only one who's disappointed that a Z-List 'celebrity' can get people into clinics when countless warnings from doctors can't?

Same with Kylie and breast cancer. Though to be frank, do you check your happy sacks regularly, cos I sure as hell don't.

I read a message in the paper this morning from well-wishers to Jade and there was one from a young lady. She said how she went to have a smear test and her results came back abnormal and is now waiting for hospital treatment. I have no doubt many lives will be saved from this very publicised story on Jade. I think they call this a silver lining.

Again, though such a sad sad story and as many have said 27 is no age to die. It higlights massively the need for women to attend routine smear test appointments.

Sadly, not enough people listen to their doctors advice for some reason. I put this down to the "it won't happen to me" way of thinking.
However, when something like this is so publicised it's for many woman with their appointment letter sitting at home to just ignore it. It makes you realise that "it can happen to anyone".

Lunacy. If they want to make a self-serving charitable gesture, they should put some money into trust funds for her children. Good grief.

I disagree Rusty, they're enabling a dying young woman to have a fairy tale wedding, what's so wrong with that? One of her sons' last memories of her will be a happy one, for all of them. Jade's been quite an astute business woman and I'm quite sure that she will have organised as much as she can towards trust funds for her boys, and any funds arising from the wedding will surely go into this.

perhaps she could have afforded the Fairytale wedding for herself then and accepted donations to the childrens trust fund from EJ & MAF!

I think Rusty's point is more to do with the tacky and self-interested publicity stunts by Al-Fayed and Elton John, I agree with Rusty that it would be much nicer if they made donations to her childrens trust funds. Obviously we don't know if they have made private donations, which in my opinion show real charity, as there is not publicity element to their "altruism"

I accept that, and being as Elton John is a huge benefactor to several charities, it wouldn't surprise me if he's done something more privately in this instance too - not syaing she's a charity, but he's quite a benevolent old chap. Al-Fayed's a different kettle of fish however.

Maybe I'm just being suckered by all this but in my opinion I don't see anything wrong with her wanting to provide for her children after she dies.

She's using the only tools she has available to ensure that this is possible.

absolutely

I find it amazing the amount of people, not just on here but in general that slagged her off to the hills after Big Brother and then celebrity Big Brother that are now thinking shes a brave lady.

At the end of the day, there are countless people who are going through the same thing as her but aren't making a big deal out of it with the papers and media etc, yet she is making a fortune out of it.

Obviously its not a nice thing, and nobody likes to see people suffering with cancer but its the peoples reaction I'm staggered at. She was one of the most hated people in the World after CBB and featured on a lot of "celebrities I would love to hit" threads on here...

Awful Woman!

every time I hear that little whine..............
it reminds me of something like this

I don't think anyone would have wished a drawn out, painful death from an aggressive form of cancer that will eat away her from the inside though. That and leaving her babies without a mother is a bit steep for even the biggest **** to accept as "just one of those things" even when you weigh up the fact that she's been a bit of an arse on telly a few times. A bit of compassion never goes amiss "Boy Wonder" my son, you never know when you might need it yourself.

As far as i'm concerned she still is. Being ill doesn't make you brave either. However, I wouldn't wish what she is going through on my worst enemy, and certainly not on her kids. I just feel sorry for her. That doesn't make me a hypocrite, it makes me human.

Theyll probably be a Princess Diana style funeral and outpouring of grief for her. Im sure Elton is already busily rewriting the lyrics to "Candle in the Wind".
