Is no signing better than a bad signing?

What is worse?

Was Moses Ashikodi a triallist in the reserves?

Its frightening the number of people who would sign a donkey just for the sake of signing someone.
It is extremely frightening. I can almost accept it if there is a chance he will do ok, but when this poll states he wont do well for us, how can an expense (negative) and a poor player (negative) = positive?

I don't understand some fans.

Everyone wants us to sign another striker, but we are having trouble signing the right man. What will be worse for the club: rushing in and making a bad signing - another Ricketts, who wasn't interested; or maybe a Paynter, who for whatever reasons didn't work out - or not making another signing this transfer window?
This post can apply for a driving licence tomorrow.

That's a random choice of example players haha

Stating the obvious, every single signing is a gamble and how it works out is in the lap of the gods. That is why all the data in the world is still no guarantee of success, like all the DD, all the scoutings and interviews can be rendered meaningless by all kinds of unforeseen circumstances.

Guess it's about minimising risk rather than eliminating, which as you say is impossible.
