Is it time for another protest?

Something needs to be done.

Things are inherently wrong on and off the pitch and the blame lays solely at the door of our illustrious chairman.

Action speaks louder than words.

Can someone dig out the quotes at the beginning of the season when the Echo and Spinner first broke the stories about the players not being paid on time? IIRC, wasn't it flatly denied for quite some time?

Similarly, any official quotes about the state of the club's finances around the time that Revell was suddenly shipped out?

and lets be honest, the whole webb debacle and Q&A was just his last throw of the smarm dice oh and letting the 'vocal ones' have the north bank back for a while, I can take relegation I have seen plenty of them supporting the blues for 27 years, I remeber seeing my dad so angry with a bloke called anton jonson, we then shared the anger of the jobson era, now we have Ron Martin dragging the club down and its time for a mass demonstration (however fruitless it may be)

Nail on head Lee mate.

Yes, let's all act like neanderthals again

I hope not, I for one would be in favour of a protest. However, it need to be different. No good shouting for anyones head as we as a club are out of options. No, it need to be something that shows the fans complete disgust at our plight and in a way that doesnt involve gathering around in a lynch mob.
A silent protest at the next home game? - bit of a shame with having the North Bank back but there we go.
I like the idea of White Flags but this might give the players the wrong idea about who we are directing the protest towards.
Turning out back on te game for a set period of time and just face the directors box in complete silence - This is my favourite as I believe it would have a massive impact............not to mention being a little creepy.

I thought Adam Barrett's interview after the game was very telling - did anyone else listen to it?

How about the Pizza Man and building blocks quotes just three months ago?

Here's a link to an article on the official site in January: http://www.southendunited.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10444~1927211,00.html

Mind you, it wasn't Ron who said it, but Tilly was given the job.

As you'll see, there's also no mention of "DD" stopping building taking place at Fossetts (a reason recently given as well for work not starting for another few months).

Southend United boss Steve Tilson has urged local businesses not to stand in the way of his dream of managing the Blues in a new stadium.

All but a few of the final building blocks are in place for Southend to begin work on their new stadium this year.

Blues have agreed to purchase nearly all the business premises all the properties around Roots Hall including the Councils and Prospects College which form part of the Sainsbury's store.

However, it appears two local takeaways are trying to stall the whole development and Tilson is urging them to take their pizza-the-action.

"Everybody has been working so hard to try and get the new development going it's frustrating that its being held up by a couple of individuals," said manager Steve Tilson.

"I've made it no secret that I see the new stadium as something that I want to be a part of.

"As soon as the stadium gets going I will have the funds to really improve the squad and the future will start to look really bright.

"A really Super Pizza for me would be one that was taken-away!"

Tilson, who is a real pizza man, enjoys the tasty treat after an away game and believes that it is the ideal substance following a physical 90 minutes on a Saturday.

"We often have a couple of pizzas on the team coach on the way home from games," he said.

"The carbs they provide are good for recovery for professional sportspeople and so the boys all tuck in.

"I have to admit though we are a Dominos side though - I enjoy a Chicken Supreme or the Mighty Meaty."

I like your idea's, but unfortunately we wouldn't get the numbers to have a good enough impact.

I'm not sure, it it all adds up. I believe a vast majoriy of our fans were aware of the last protest but decided not to be involved (myself included). If we decided on a theme...we get the word out through here, the Shrimpers Trust, Blue Voice, Facebook and use the Echo in our favour for a change. Not to mention Southend Radio.

I would like to see either the slient protest implemented at a home game. Be it throughout the game or for a period of time...I also think we should turn and face the directors box whilst this is being done.

WE CAN get this orgainised and get all of Rootshall behind it.

Hopefully the players wouldn't get the wrong idea. I can just imagine the silence, even better if we could get the message to the away fans and they were to conform as well.

Don't turn up and vote with your feet. This season is dead, the players cant be bothered for reasons we all know why. Don't get me wrong im a supporter of the team but when you give your time, effort and cash to something with no return it hurts.

I used to actually enjoy the games, even the losses because we actually gave it a game but after the pants of Tranmere, Wycombe,Exeter,Carlisle and Yeovil i really can't be bothered.

As mentioned before crowds are only holiding up because the large number of season card holders. I only know a handful who have already renewed and will renew. The rest we cherry pick games next season. Thats of course if we have a team! Who is going to play for this club?

too many people think a protest on here is a bad idea. i went last time and i still believe it was the right thing. some people are just happy to sit on their hands and have no club to support next season.

Well that was my first thoughts for action, instead of going to the game have a self imposed lock out. Congregate in the carpark for 3 O'Clock with 'Save Our Southend' flags/posters etc.

Ok, I know it will mean denying the club revenue which they need but at least it will be noticed.

not having a go at you or anyone who went to the protest, but why was it only done for one game? Surely if people had that much a of grievance they would have protested after the last couple of home games aswell!

you would need to ask the organisers about that as i don't no. but i would have a guess to say because of the amount of abuse poeple who did go got from people who didnt go.

On the train on the way back from a total ****ing farce almost none of the players seem to care. Ron has turned us into a joke with his appauling financial management. I will be glad when this ******* of a season is over.

Try and keep up mate. WE HAVE NO OPTIONS. Other than to show our disgust at the situation. Martin goes..........he pulls the plug. Ta da The Shrimpers. Martin Stay's............................well yes it may be ta da the Shrimpers anyway but he is our only chance.

Jeez, it's like banging your head against a brickwall sometimes.
