I used to work with a guy who was a youth team goalkeeper for Watford. He said that people hated playing at Roots Hall because the pitch was awful. That was a long time ago but I doubt much has improved...

Really? The pitch at Roots Hall has been fantastic for most of the last couple of decades, with the only exceptions being when we've had really bad weather.

Agree with Dave, also weve only won one more game away from home than at home. The Aldershot and Barnet games were horrific but in the others weve created a fair few chances. The turning point has been dropping Spicer and getting in Laird and Mkandawire, made us more solid in the midfield and allows Timlin to play his natural box to box game. Chuck in Tomlin scoring and Britt back in the goals with Fred and Corr on the bench, then I think we will start to go on a real good run now.
Sounds about right......I hope so

Agreed we have had some awful home performances but that was also before we had the current near settled side with welcome midfield additions. So judgements should made from now on as opposed to the past. The only useful form guide was against Port Vale and we played well. Yes PV were an open side that allowed a free flowing game but we were more than a match for them.

The usual excuses about teams parking the bus at Roots Hall are not the problem. Many away teams play deep and defensive but a good side will take the game to them and search for ways to unlock the door. Earlier this season we looked clueless and did nowhere enough to justify winning. But that, as I say, is the past. This new look blues will probably have more idea and ability to play against teams that try to stifle a match.

Lets give it a month or two and talk about home performances then.
