All of the IT nerds that I know are slating Apple for conning the public out of more money with a very simple upgrade with no interest of introducing new technology.

My contract is up soon and I have a decision to make. I have a work blackberry so I don't want another one however it doesn't have BBM. I have an Ipad so I can get all the apps without needing my mobile.

What phones do you recommend?

Blackberry is an option for BBM. But, I don't get the big deal of that?

Does the new connector mean faster transfer speeds? If not, it's just a con and a way to move the headphone socket and get people to buy lots of new connectors and docks.

They wouldn't would they??

I have never understood why Apple constantly get away with business practices which firms like Micro$oft are always being slated for. It does seem that people are so distracted by the image of Apple as the "people's techies" that they don't look critically enough at the way they behave. From the way the Samsung exec was cheered at the Paralympics, it may be that some folk are finally getting tired of them though.

Has anyone got one of the new Nokias? I must be the only bloke in the world never to have owned a Nokia phone

My next phone will be a Nexus of some description, Samsung are rumoured to be releasing a Galaxy Nexus II around November so I'm holding out upgrading the Galaxy S2 for now (my S2 is still lightning fast mind).

We have a Nexus at work and for the sheer fact you can use face recognition to unlock the thing, it's an amazing piece of kit. The Nexus II will blow people away. You won't see every other sheep person with one that has a smashed screen either.

You should be able to use 'Face Unlock' on any phone with Ice Cream Sandwich onwards (and a front facing camera of course!). I'm more interested in the quicker OS updates (don't have to wait for the carrier to approve a new ROM, O2 took forever to roll out the ICS 4.0.3 update) and Google Now which will come in handy once it's learnt all my work routes etc. The Galaxy Nexus has a great form factor as well imo, I'm hoping an updated version will keep a similar look and feel but have uprated internals.

I know I can put something like Cyanogenmod 10 on to get Jelly Bean on my S2 but it currently works so smoothly on ICS 4.0.3 I'm happy to leave it as is until the new Nexus phones are announced soon.

Anybody got an English translation of this?

Indeed, Apple could put swastikas over it and design it in the shape of a penis and youd still get thousands of idiots queueing overnight in the freezing cold to be the first person to get it.

Hmmm dilemma, all the company's phones are O2 but LTE won't work based on the frequencies. Speculation is O2/Voda specific phones launched next year.

What do I do

1. Ditch iPhones?
2. Ditch O2 for EE
3. Wait until next march to upgrade
4. Bite the bullet and get the new shiny toy now
