Question Internet at Roots Hall

This isn't a Roots Hall problem by any means. Many mobile providers struggle in crowds where the masts can't cope with demand.

EE do seem to buck the trend, my Mrs even gets perfect signal in Wembley! (Although suspect EE have extra masts there as they sponsor the venue). But even in other areas of high usage me o2 always struggles, but she's fine on EE.

It’s possible that EE's better performance at Roots Hall (and other large crowded spaces) is due to their role as the network provider for the UK's Emergency Services Network (ESN). Since EE is responsible for ensuring reliable coverage for emergency services, they likely have enhanced infrastructure and coverage in areas like football grounds

As with others, I struggle to load anything whilst inside the ground and I’ve got absolutely no chance outside the ground. Im on O2.

The only app that seems to work ok(ish) is Flashscores, which is of course the only one needed at that time.

I will normally open it just before HT, wait for it to update, screenshot all the games & then dash outside for my half time smoke & a check on my 14-fold acca.

So from this, EE would appear to be the only network capable of breaching the Chernobyl like structure of Roots Hall.

Another thing for the list then please COSU.
No, I'm on EE and it's really random. One day it will be fine, and then 5 mins later, just nothing...

Perhaps the Shrimpers Trust could find out how much it would cost for Roots Hall to be kitted out properly with a fully functioning network that could be used by all fans and if it was feasible do a fundraiser to pay for it? By the sounds of it this would be a really big upgrade for most shrimpers. Especially if we’re all trying to find out the Barnet score in the last few matches of the season.

I'm with EE. I can browse the internet without issues on my phone in East block A during the game, but at half time pages and apps won't load - likely because every other person is trying to do the same thing, and the masts nearby can't cope with the demand.

Is there much COSU can do? Reception in the ground is down to the networks, it's nothing to do with the club. I suppose we could install WiFi but I imagine covering the whole ground would get expensive very quickly.

We must have some sort of expert in SZ that has knowledge of installing networks in commercial or even stadiums?

It is if you miss that emergency call from friends or family though. Been caught out by that scenario once before albeit I wasn’t at Roots Hall
I can get calls fine at RH , just no internet/whatsapp (o2 in the west stand)
