India v England ODIs

From what I've seen we've never really been in this match.

I'm guessing man of the match will be a quick decision.

Superb catch to remove Bopara

More rubbish today. Only Ravi and Bell impressed at the top.

It fell apart as soon as KP got out for not many. Collingwood shouldn't have been sent in, they probably should have gone for Patel to face the spinners. Flintoff certainly shouldn't have been sent out to start against two spinners bowling in tandem.

England actually hit a fair number of 4s, but were held back by too many dot balls. Bopara and Bell can be excused for the first 7 or so overs when there was a bit of zip in the pitch after the overnight dew, but England played out well over 150 dot balls. If a third of those were just played out for a single, England would have had a competitive target.

God knows what the powerplay strategy was, surely they'd have been better off taking it when they had two in batsmen?

Bell played one of his most promising innings for England showing real aggression and class, but still failed to rotate the strike and got out without making a defining contribution. Bopara played some lovely shots but was even more guilty of failing to pick up the singles. He's however surely done enough to have justified a much longer run opening than the 5 games (1 rained out) he was given at no.4.

England seem to be getting progressively worse. It could really be pretty ugly by the 7th game.

still think this game is set up nicely. a couple of wickets and it could be a really good finale

There's your couple of wickets.

Got to say Freddie's taken a couple of wickets today with some very ordinary deliveries. That was a pretty smart catch by Colly.

yup. Dhoni is important here I reckon, if he is sensible he'll stick around and see it home.. fingers crossed he gets frustrated too early and starts going for it

I didn't expect us to win the series in india but maybe winning the odd ODI would be nice. India were so comfortable in their run chase we were simply lucky the bad light debacle at the end was there to cover up teh fact that they were going to win at a canter.

By debacle, I obviously mean application of the rules of cricket.

Odds on it was England who refused to use floodlights.

Here we go for the 4th ODI, England win the toss and decide to bowl, and will chase under lights.

Tendulkar opens with Sehwag, and the first ball disappears to the boundary.

Not sure why there is no Harmy yet Jimmy is playing. Anderson was awful, hopefully the rain break will allow him to recover, but England's confidence looks shot: a run-out no-one bothered appealing for, other missed chances, Prior's confidence has gone completely. They need to snap out of this before the tests start.

If Prior is to bat at 8 - why not play Foster? A better keeper, and a better finisher of an innings.

amazing finale, come on England. Freddie just hit an insanely huge 6. 126-3, need 72 from 42
