I'm losing faith in Chris Powell. Are you?

Surely real man managers and tacticians come into their own when their backs are against the wall? You're the manager Chris, install some pride and self belief into the team, find your manager who will whip the players into shape on the pitch.

To paraphrase young people, poopy got real. Deal with it or leave so we can find someone who can.

Playing one of the worst teams in the division and you basically have one player (Cox) who is the sole source of goals. Very poor tactics, you don't need three centre backs against Wimbledon. I remember a few years back under Sturrock we went to the Kingmeadow and ripped them apart, Britt and Tomlin leading the line, pace, power. The team looks devoid of any creativity- why sign three defensive midfielders in the summer, one a proven crock in Hyam? The team lacks physicality and frankly any player who either a) gets the crowd going or b) worries the opposition.

Given the injuries we've had anything other than relegation will be a plus here. All of the time Powell has had to evaluate and improve the squad has been completely undone by the injury crisis. We need to prioritise survival at this point we're in very real danger of being relegated.

Its not worth worrying about Theo or McCoulsky only if we keep conceding 2 goals a game will we get relegated.

Saturdays two were embarrassing, Rather than just blame Oxley we should look at how deep we defend, Both goals came from crosses that were 30+ yards back from the byline. No team should be so deep they are challenging on the 6 yard box. It was the same at Crawley for their 1st goal.

Blackpool were excellent at stepping up and playing off-side. We have been poor all season. I'm not talking to the levels of Arsenal under George Graham but if you look at things like the first goal at Luton or the winner for Posh a simple jog out would have prevented both goals. If you then up it a level and are calling it and stepping up fast, their forwards are going away from goal, Go up a further notch and even a guy crossing it from deep feels under pressure to deliver quicker and it buys some space for the keeper. Yes Oxley isn't the best at reading the flight but if his defence had been 5 yards further up then that would be less confusion and traffic in front of him.

Nor does it take a captain to organise. The full backs can see along the line and should talk to their CB's and the best keepers I have ever had behind me screamed for the defence to get out as the penalty box was theirs. If you hung around deep in the penalty area after clearing to ball you would hear the scream, not a call and the woosh of a two handed punch coming towards the back of your head.

I'll be completely honest, I have never liked Oxley and never rated him that highly at all. Now I'm not saying I think he's shocking but I think he's a bang average league 2 keeper who has a lot of flaws in his game.

The fact is Oxley's kicking, lack of commanding his box, coming off his line, not be able to catch the ball, no communication has all assisted with us conceding goals this season.

I am not saying it's all his fault because clearly it isn't but he also has to account for his many poor games this season already.

And yes, I know he can make a worldy of a save every now and again but that's not enough and so do most keepers. Average keeper on a 3 year deal and according to RM, the best paid keeper in the league. Laughable.

Also our player of the season last year that everyone would be crying about had we lost.

Ok I get you don't like him but her is certainly better than L2. He has done well with 50/50's on the floor and his kicking is way above average. The fact we don't have anyone who can head it up top is not the keepers fault.

P.S I wouldn't believe all of Rons wages claims. In fact I'm reliably told that certain people weren't paid over transfers and signings......Which is why CP has found it difficult to recruit. Don't tell anyone though, its easier to blame the manager in the modern game

I saw John Keeley play upfront for us in a reserve game.

Wasn't bad, either.

I actually didn't mind him, in truth. That said, I don't think he played much first team football, from memory.

I personally wasn't fussed about whether Oxley stayed in the summer, as one thing this club is doing well at producing at the moment, is keepers; and I expect he's a high earner now!

I was actually disappointed we gave him a 3 year contract, as will that now hinder some of our own keepers coming through.

I appreciate none of these may be ready this season (especially with Ted's injury) but we could have got one in on loan for the season.

If one of our young keepers emerges from the pack then we can sell Oxley for more than we have paid him. So a 3 year contract is good business.

I have seen most of our defeats apart from Wimbledon and I don't blame Oxley for any of them. We have much bigger problems than who's in goal if we are going to get our act together.

I'm with Lagerbomb on this one.....a case of hanging in there until January window unfortunately....no-one could've ever guessed how bad the long term injury list would become...

Sad, but I think we may accept an offer on Dru to supplement the squad ( 1 out -sadly- to bring 3 in)..but, we are, and always will be, a selling team....esp when we're £17m in debt...

Yes, true enough. But who's likely to be available in January that can meet our needs? Hopefully our scouts have spotted some talent in lower divisions.

Watching us playing Man U amazing keeper amazing saves how a keeper should play

He's at Plymouth, Brian, but I agree. I'm surprised he is scoring so many goals.
He was nearly at Wimbledon. I believe we spirited him away just before he was due to sign on the dotted.
