"I'll make capitalism work for the people"-What Ed Milipede wants.

Takaful is is the fast growing financial vehicle of the last few years as muslim businesses try and find ways of tapping into the Mulsim market without "offending Allah". Insurance is another Financial product which in theory is not allowed because it can be percieved to be a gamble, but they have got round this

Some religions do have good ideas re social order etc . But as always you get fundanmental indiots who don;t like haivng tehir world view disrupted or this breaks with tradition even if it runs contrary to what they believe and action aids millions of people :(

Personally i agree that more people should rent , but that same and another part of the. the idea of home owning has been thrust upon as being a great achievement, where by it should be seen as an option. Epically now the rise more singletons .

by renting is one not only paying over the odds than if they bought the property via finance, but also still being exploited by a private owner who has access to capital that the renting individual does not (once again loan sharking)? I fail to see how either is a preferable outcome?

the trouble with the private property market in this country/system is that everyone from the banks (higher prices means higher income), govt (higher prices means higher stamp duty revenues), owners (sell on profit), and land lords (speculation) are all gunning for price rises in property. so much so that it is now nigh impossible for most to access the market until they are well into their 30's

ha ha, do me a favour - how do you buy a house then?

Save up. If you don't want to save up get a mortgage but if you do don't whinge about it. You were moaning about how unfair mortgages are. My point was if you don't like it don't do it.

that would screw the current system though wouldn't it. the banks wouldn't be creaming it off anyone and nobody would move because they can't afford to buy a house outright so the whole housing market would grind to a halt worse than 2008. the reality is an individual has no choice, especially if they wish to start a family (a time bound opportunity) - people are fully entitled to whinge about getting shafted, that is the beauty of our beloved democracy

The system has worked fine for me and thousands of others. Do you expect someone to lend you a few hundred grand without earning anything from it?
Why are lefties so anti banks? Why not start your own bank and do interest free loans to all your lefty mates? You always have the option of renting or applying for a council house, not everyone wants to own their own home.

very one dimensional - there are far more opportunities for humanity to provide basic shelter to one another wihtout some faceless bloke sitting on his arsenal not lifting a finger and yet reaping mass profits from it

And there you have it , its not really a leftie idea to provide teh basic equivalent of a good habitat. It could be argued that because Righties bought into a system and worked with it , they tend not to challenge or critique their own system (which is as one dimensional as saying all lefties don;t believe in open markets or capitalism ).

There should be some parts of socity separated from the open market . However if you do that it can remove them from those who makea lot of money from it (basic health care , affordable homes etc ). you challenge the value of teh products and services. Its also not true to say an individual cant change it , as individuals are the ones who define teh system and values . You just have to know teh rules.

So you dont want to rent because its too expensive and you dont want to borrow the money to buy because you are being exploited.
So i'm guessing you want to be given something for nothing. And how will this be paid for? Presumably by charging higher taxes to the people who are already paying more tax and therefore enabling you to ponce of the people who are working harder/smarter than you are.

Judging by your previous posts, you obviously have a mortgage and are buying your own house, which presumably you and your family live in. How many poorer families do you allow to live in your house, thereby saving them from extortionate mortgages, whilst providing them with basic shelter?
That would be none then.
