If worst comes to worst - Who can we expect to loose.

DTS

The Business
Everyone knows that when you go down you are basically left at the mercy of every other club to rob, steal and pillage your best players.

So who will we do well to keep Im putting them in 3 catergories.

ALMOST SURE THEY WILL BE GONE
Freddy, JCR, Hammell.

BIT WORRIED THEY WILL BE GONE
Maher, Flavs, Francis,

TILLY WILL CHOP EM IN
Che, Prior (Retired) Hopper, Paynter, Lawson,

Your thoughts please.

Agree with your first three, however, with Tilly and Brush at the helm and their known desire and commitment to bouncing straight back should the worst happen I have my doubts about your second three choices.

Last five choices I agree with too, with the possible exception of Paynter.

The worst thing about it is if we go down we will only get half what has been reportedly offered for Freddy!

About right i think....But "IF" we go down, who is say we will even have Tilly next year....That concerns me most.

Freddy will go in the summer for about five hundred thousand, and that will be it IMO, Dont think clubs will be falling over themselves to sign others, jcr gone back to being a bit frustrating again(but still working his nuts off), Hammell i feel is here for the long haul, I would worry about Foran going he looking a good player at this level, lawson will prob be let go feel hooper may get another year and che may be kept on having already proven himself in league one.

Why don't we talk about this on the afternoon of May 6th - IF its relevant then-- instead of speading doom and despondency .

Anyone would think we are already down .God , I hope the players aren't reading this thread

This is also my main concern.

Players like Eastwood and Campbell-Ryce have done enough in this division to show that they should at least play in this division. Tilson has loads of ambition and I don't think a relegation this season would represent a significant blot on his casebook with regards to the transformation in the team since he took over.

It could be argued that he was fortunate in signing Eastwood but we certainly weren't the first team to look at him.

I don't think Francis will be off having seen how he's played - he'll probably end up being a regular first-teamer if we go down and I still have faith that one day he might be Championchip quality or better.

It's just a hypothetical situation. There's no harm in being pragmatic as well as optimistic. Perhaps if the thought of relegation would spur the players on - who knows?

You wanna Fish with those chips cookie boy ?:p

We'll lose Eastwood regardless of whether we stay up, I'd be quietly confident that EVERYONE else will stay (helped by the stadium plans also). I seriously don't think there'll be anything like an exodus.

I would however hope that the likes of Lawson, Che, Paynter and Harrold will be chopped. If we go down though we will IMHO have a good chance to come straight back up and won't necessarily have to wait for the stadium to achieve this.

I think Freddy would almost certainly go and agree maybe JCR and Hammell also, But not so sure about the others. Also Foran, Hooper, Paynter and Harrold are not a bad set of strikers for div 1, so it would be interesting to see how well Foran and Hoops played together.

Though this is all irrelevant as we are staying up...ahem

only a championfish

Took me about 6 reads to realise what you were going on about. I thought I had accidentally written "even Bart could score past Darryl with his knee in plaster and the BNP are good people" with your mention of fish.
