IF Barny goes....

Two things:-

1) The thread should be named 'When Barney goes..........'

2) None of those options thank you very much.....it's not that I am particularly
optimistic about the size of our squad this season.........but I just can't believe
that we would put ourselves into that situation.

Two things:-

1) I agree, should have out 'When' instead of 'If'. What kind of **** started this thread eh?! :whistling:

2) I agree on this aswell, the options are not the best. Infact they are terrible if i'm being totally honest.

This makes such depressing reading. I'm so desperate for someone at the club to ring me up and try and sell me something, I'm gonna ruin their day.

I can't bring myself to vote on this.

OK, reading between the lines from the match report on the OS, it's perhaps possible to calculate one or two things.
Apparently Spencer went off at half-time, thus it would seem a good bet that he may well get a start on Saturday. Meanwhile it looks as though Dougie was on for the ninety minutes, from which we can assume that he will be completely knackered....... ..............and won't start. I would think that, depending on his first half performance, Yves could end up on the bench......probably too risky to start him?

It would leave us with 3 strikers with one league goal between them all season. You do the math. We'd be buggered!

No it doesn't. Freedman scored away at Walsall, Walker scored league goals whilst on loan at Hereford and Spencer scored a league goal at the weekend.

Fair point. If Barnard leaves then our top goalscorer will be Laurent!

Was it 2? But anyway, that didn't exactly help us did it.

I actually think Walker has scored once this season for us, but i might be imagining it. Can't remember. Freedman def has 1 to his name, and of course Spencer has 1. I'm hoping this guy has got some real talent, and can score goals for us, and not just a flash in the pan.

Put simply, if we have to rely on Walker and Freedman for goals, we're in BIG trouble

Without checking, I can't remember exactly how many but he scored more than one whilst out on loan.

Walker's last goal for us was Orient away wasn't it? Spencer certainly seems to have a bit about him with 4 goals in 3 games (including the reserves). Hopefully he can step up.

If its just Walker and Freedman, you maybe right. All depends on who, if anyone, comes in if/when Barnard goes.

Of course i'm right!!!!!! I'm always right!!!!!! :)

Seriously though, if we have to rely on those two heaps of ****, then relegation is on the cards

I'm not sure.

Yes, we aren't in the best position in the world but we have very winnable home games on paper, with only Charlton as a big threat in my opinion. Perhaps Walker just needs a run in the side, but I get the feeling that Tilson doesn't trust Walker, hence Scannell going up top from the bench ahead of Walker not too long ago.

I wouldn't have been surprised to see Walker go this month, but we'd need to have a few players lined up to come in.

Totally agree, and if we had the same side, or even the same calibre of players we've hadin previous years i'd say, yep we'll be OK.

Unfortunately, it's evident players like Moussa, JFC are playing crap atm, Barny is more than likely to be off either this week or next and i'd be surprised if Macca and Franno are still here come Feb 2nd.

In other words, we will have a very ropey team, one that has almost zero creativity, and even worse, a team that cannot score. And you can't win games unless you score goals.

You say that, but the core of the side is the same side that went on a fantastic run 2nd half of last season, minus Clarke, Dervite and Robinson. Clarke has been replaced by M'Voto and Barrett has been moved infield to centre half to replace Dervite.

The side we have is only one or two signings away from being a genuine play-off chasing team. For example, this January we could sign Billy Jones from Crewe and left back, and Arron Davies who has been released from Forest and our team could read:

Mildenhall

Jones Barrett M'Voto Francis

Davies Grant Macca Laurent

Spencer Barnard.

How much better do you feel with the return to fitness of M'Voto, and the addition of two more players?

Of course, we may sign neither, but then again we didn't think we'd sign Robinson and Dervite last January.

4 points away from Oldham who have 2 games on us. Still a long way to go, but we need to start getting some results!

Especially this month as the 5 games we face in february on paper looks like our hardest month till the end of the season. 2 home games v Tranmere (win) and Charlton (draw or lose), and 3 very tough away games at Colchester, M.K.Dons and Norwich where if we got 1 point from those i'd be happy.
