I think the word is - doh.

I remember him talking on a programme about this. He said he wrote to all clubs around London asking to give him a try. Luton responded first, and us later on, but he chose Luton purely because they were the first to give him a chance.

So by that reckoning, we didn't really let him slip.

True, but we missed out him when we had the chance all the same.
 
Wasn't it ronnie whelan that let matt holland go after a trail, saying he was not good enough and would never make it as a proffesional footballer

In terms of Wright, I remember hearing rumours about eight or nine years ago, as he was making his way down the leagues and joining the likes of Forest and Burnley, that we tried to sign him.
