I was thinking (atmosphere wise)

Way back in the day I used to stand in the south lower with a little drum and it was good fun and it got everyone going. Anyway with the atmosphere getting better and the guy who had a decent drum in the west dissapearing I was thinking maybe we should sort something out???

Would anyone agree with me here? Maybe like Sheffield Wednesday and get the full works or even just a few decent drums?

Now I know some people love them and some hate them but it was just an idea to be honest!

PS- When I went to see Spurs v Chelsea the spurs drum is VERY noisy and as soon as he starts it lifts the crowd in a major way and the players!

Opinions please guys?

i've got a couple of drums (i'm an orchestral percussionist) and have always thought about bringing one down and maybe getting a ticket in the v-block or something and just banging it all game...

but then im a wooss and like to just chillout!

Obviously didn't work against Manchester United yesterday ;)

I think its a top idea there is a guy in the South Upper who I remember a few years back had a Southend United shirt Rebus one with FIGO 10 on the back LOL! Well anyway he always used to have a drum. That was great always used to get us going.

I wish you would stop banging on:hilarious:

I think it's a great idea -get a few people with drums together in a particular block somewhere in the ground - sometimes after a goal has been scored against us the place goes so flat and quiet - a few drums might get things going a bit quicker...anyone play the trumpet too? that would be even better :)

Do it my son! Away games last two years have been great with the jungle bongo banging that choon where we all have a jig then chant BLUES at the end.Puts everyone in a party mood and shuts up the opposing fans for a minute.Sheff Wed and West Brom last season spring to mind where we sung up and created good atmosphere to let the boys know that we are right behind them.Recreate that at home and hopefully it's a win win situation.
At the very least it'll drown out the "you're **** Harrold" ****s in the crowd.

I dont think Spurs have a drum, when we played them, there were a loada fans just banging on the stands which made a hell of a noise, and you can here it on tv, one of the best atmospheres in the premier league imo.

Anyways i think we should deffo have drums at RH, would improve the atmosphere 110%, we had a few supplied by the club few seasons ago and gave it to fans around the ground, anyone know what happened to those?

Not too sure. I could have sworn the club discouraged the use of drums at some point a few years back after complaints from people sitting close to them - or was that something else?

Drums would be a good idea. But I still don't think the atmosphere at our home games will be that great unless we move to the north bank or until we move to Fossetts, as both of those have great acoustics. East, West and South and RH just have shocking acoustics, so we'll never sound loud.

That was a Long time ago. Remember when your were asked the following questions everytime you wanted a ticket?
Sitting or standing? Smoking or non-smoking? Singing or non-singing? BO or no BO? Swearing at the ref or the players? Drum or no drum? And if the 5 seat allocated were taken - you couldn't take the drum in! :p

About six or seven years ago, there used to be a small band in the South Upper led (I believe) by one of our SZ members; what happened to them? Drummed out by the silence masses?

A Drum yes, a few drums is probably a bad idea bearing in mind our fans seem to struggle keeping the Barmy Army chant in time with each other.

A Spurs fan had a drum for the Carling Cup, game just to the right of us in the lower tier. Not sure about the FA cup game I don't think he was there.
