Hunt

I'm clueless for formulating my own opinion? Thanks, i'll know better than to dare do that again. Thanks for the personal insult though, I really appreciate it.

I am in agreement about the insult - there should be no need for personal abuse in a rational debate.

I take it this means you are going to refrain from dishing out personal abuse about the players from now on then?

Not at all. Funnily enough, i don't really appreciate being labelled as "clueless" when expressing an opinion. After all, this is what a messageboard is for, isn't it?

I apologise for the insult, but I heartily disagree with your opinion. And take a nap.

If publicly stating that I don't think Matt Harrold is good enough for League One constitues personal abuse, then i'm guilty as charged. You certainly won't find me labelling him a c*nt or the like, not in the stands or on here.

Lewis Hunt has indeed been excellent and would be second behind Nick Bailey as my player of the season so far. Simon Francis may be the better player going forward but he has yet to convince me he has the concentration or the awareness to be first-choice right back.

Whereas Hunt reads the game superbly and covers his central defenders wherever possible, Francis is prone to switching off at vital moments. I hope he proves me wrong and has a stormer against Leeds on Tuesday, though.

Again, agreed wholeheartedly.

I cannot understand the clamour for Francis over Hunt at right-back. The bloke just cannot defend.

If Francis drops back, Black on the Right or will Scannell get his first 90minutes ?

Francis and Scannell for me
You need to listen to Tilly's interviews a bit more. He's said on several occasions that Scannell's fitness levels are a light years away from those of a professional footballer so they can only use him for 10-15-20 minutes at the moment.

Unlikely then that he'll start much before Lipstick learns enough English to understand Shorty's shout of "yours" every time a ball come in the box.

At the risk of sounding contraversial here. I dont actually rate hunt at all. He is one of the players that hasnt reallt got a position. He is not a central midfielder as he doesnt have the ability and passing range he is not a winger as he does not have the legs to get up and down the wings and he most certainly is not a right back/centre back as he does not have the brain hight heading ability or tackling qualities. He reminds me of che wilson . Not much ability but 100% commitment. The sooner we sign a right back of Hamells quality the better.

Hunt doenst have height, heading ability or tackling but you want a right back of Hammells quality ?

I like Hammell but in fairness you have just highlighted all his weaknesses :)

Hunt has done well this season, he is a decent player and has looked far better now he has a player wide in front of him. He was getting slaughtered with the 3 central midfielders as he never had anyone to help defend or to play off when going forward.

Hamell is great in the tackle and has fantastic passing range aswell as coolness under presure and wins lots of headers as well getting foward and creating chances with crosses free kicks etc. Hunt doesn't really have any of the above.

Lewis Hunt is probably the best crosser of a ball at the club, when he gets in position to deliver. They are always accurate, telling crosses. Unfortunately, none of our strikers are capable of being in the right place at the right time. He is also coolness personified. Invariably just knicking the ball off an attackers toes rather than going in for a full-blooded, last chance saloon challenge like the rest of our defence.

Well i see things differently with hunty. Hamell has gower infront who gives no protection and still performs when the same is said of hunt he just gets roasted. He needs protection all the time and that is not good.

At least Hammell has Gower. Hunt was playing with no one at all in front of him.

I do like Hammell and think he is a good player, but his biggest strengths are going forward not defensively.
