Yes, the way to respond to our defensive woes is definitely to replace the one defender who is better defending than going forward with an inferior defender.

Hunt, although a consistent performer, is also consistent in the fact he's a very limited player and rarely shines above anybody else on the pitch. Francis is a much better all round player than Hunt and i would certainly not choose Hunt over the likes of Bailey and Macca for the player of the season so far.

Depends on what else happens with Barnard and any other potential signees, but I'd hope to see Francis drop back and Scannell start. By then he ought to be pretty much up for at least an hour, so just sub him if necessary, drop Black back or bring him on.

Lewis Hunt has indeed been excellent and would be second behind Nick Bailey as my player of the season so far. Simon Francis may be the better player going forward but he has yet to convince me he has the concentration or the awareness to be first-choice right back.

Whereas Hunt reads the game superbly and covers his central defenders wherever possible, Francis is prone to switching off at vital moments. I hope he proves me wrong and has a stormer against Leeds on Tuesday, though.

completely agree... whilst francis hasn't shown yet that he deserves to have hunts shirt, i feel he isn't far off having a class game in defence and as you say he adds a lot going forward... come on simon, this is your chance!

Bailey is POS sor far for me , but Hunt has certainly been one of our better performers though.

A quick reality check though, it was not that long ago that Mark Beard won POS !
