I've never played CA so I have no match experience and I can't experiment now, nor do I wish to try out three IMs in midfield. So it's going to be a 5-4-1 press which I still think will be good enough.
You don't need experience to play counter attack, you can play it once a season and still get the same rating which is based on your defenders defending x1 and passing x2. You then need decent strikers to make the CA Chances work.

My defenders don't have great passing but as they are all world class we get an outstanding CA rating anyway. I've won games with a wretched midfield against passable/solid before!

Lost 3-0 at home to league leader who posted 224 hatstats to my 198. Still trying to fathom out why the crowd was so poor? Only 29106 for 1st against 2nd

Managed a 2-0 win to keep my 100% record intact. After 2 weeks of 198 hatstats, my form is starting to build up again as i got my more usual 223, also good to see my midfield return to Excellent.

F_H bung hatstats in google and you'll find out. Think they now cover div.VI as well.

Won 1-0 away against the second/third best team in the division, having temporarily abandoned my winger training programme whilst my star striker is out injured.

It's a way of gauging team strength based on match ratings.

Disastrous (very low) = 1
Disastrous (low) = 2
and so on

Total up each area of your team, multiply the midfield rating by 3 and you have your rating.

Alternatively visit Hatstats and look up your league, gives you a godd idea of the relative strengths of other teams.

Won 4-1 at home against the team that finished 2nd last year.

Gotta get a couple of better wingers, but really don't have the funds.

Oooooooooh, that could be tempting for the surprise approach then. I need to do some research on the success of CA with 5-4-1 first - my guess is it would be better suited to 5-3-2. My oppo only managed to reinvest his £1 mill in trainees, so his midfield is definitely weakened. Shame.
