SUFC: The Future How would you redevelop Roots Hall?

With respect, approaching the same old food franchises would be a terrible idea, guaranteeing poor quality food and high prices. Much better to approach go-ahead local food and Bev retailers. Rossi’s would be a perfect start.
Love to see rossis logo on our shirt one day. Maybe if ratboy leaves this can become a reality.

Absolutely.. but something. Half empty. Microwave pies are not my idea of half time heaven.

Yes - it is enough, and I've said previously that I just need to be given any figure, and I'll make something workable for the Football Club.
Out of interest, and totally understand if you can't divulge the information. How much has it/ will it cost Pompey for their redevelopment?

How this thread has escaped me for a week! But here’s my 2 cents and it’s really hard, near impossible to not get carried away..

I don’t think it's possible for Roots Hall to reach its potential without moving the pitch and I don’t think rotating the pitch is necessary either but even I don’t know, 30/40ft towards the east would make a big difference for access and facilities in the west further down the line. So gradually I’d say rebuild the east stand [set back from where the pitch now sits] with some sort of plan to eventually redevelop the ground with north and/or south [towards the east] and then the west.

The east stand is key. All of the facilities that are going to give Roots Hall a life line in the medium term are there and it’s also a key part of making it a community asset. The car park needs to be levelled so you can start tying in the community and bringing the club off pitch income. An outdoor toilet for the reasons below.
  • Markets during the week except some Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Hard standing boot sales for Sundays.
  • Food and beer [or cider] festivals in off season.
  • Open air cinema nights. Rent beach chairs or tables with table service.
  • Beer garden for World Cups and Euros seeing as I’m talking about there being a screen.
  • Whatever else you can do with a flat, open space?
I could keep going. As @leeblue said, I’ve imagined this a million times. In my head I hope for a redevelopment that might eventually look like AFC Wimbledon. Nothing fancy but compact and with purpose. There’s loads of little details I want to talk about but I’ll just finish with a few points.
  • The clock stays.
  • Home fans in the north bank [south for away].
  • The west stand should be accessible from the east and vice versa.
  • The double barrel roofs should be recreated in some way.

Take into consideration that Pompey‘s redevelopment didn’t involve a complete flattening and rebuilding of a stand, which would be required of the East stand at RH.

Irrelevant. It is technically far simpler to demolish and rebuild as opposed to what we did on three sides of FP.

Hmm… Presume you work for / with PMC Construction? FP redevelopment costs are readily available.
No I don't. The FP costs are not readily available at all.
PMC were only a part of the overall development.
Please don't think because you have access to overall investment figures on a YouTube video that you know what you are talking about.
