That's a bit simplistic. Suicide is often the result of a mind that is tormented and which therefore makes you react irrationally. I'm quite sure if she had been rational my God-mother would not have wanted to leave a 16 year old and a 12 year old daughter.

Is it? I have dealt with loads of attempted suicide cases, admittidly most are a case of look at me and sympathise with me (usually teenagers who have just split up with their other half's), but when look after a teenager who has been abused by her dad for years with no support or anyone to talk to, suicide can be the most rational way out of a painful road.

Of the four people I know who killed themselves, one hanged himself, one put herself under a train and two took overdoses (both probably a cry for help that went wrong). None of them were sane at the time.

Suicide doesn't appeal to me. You only get one crack at this, so make the most of it.
