How much do you spend on your loved one's!?

Whilst reading through a few of the posts in The Pub forum today i came across Sam's post. She was talking about getting a PS3 and some games for her boyf and thats fair enough. Come the end of the thread, Sam announces that she has spent £360 on her boyf's Christmas present. Now im not sure how long you 2 have been together, but i dont think i would dream of spending that much on my GF come X-mas time.

Now my question to you is, how much do you spend on your loved one at Christmas!? Am i tight **** for not spending close to £400 or am i just being sensible and spending my money on myself!?

Vote now!

Are you too stingy to include poll options?

I recommend splitting up with you other half just before Christmas. That way you don't have to buy them any presents. If you are still keen on them, you could always get back together again after Christmas.

Christmas is overrated! Spend the bare minimum otherwise you'll be like all the other dicks complaining they are poor in January - well you shouldn't have overspent then you knob!

Being the lazy git I am I just pay for the other half to go on holiday as a joint Xmas and birthday present. Probably costs me more but saves a hell of a lot of hassle!

Depends if she really wants/needs something - but in general I'd say around a ton is about the limit - but then we have a kid who gets more than that spent on him. Would never spend more than I could afford though.

Don't spend anything, as Southminster pointed out if they are with you long enough they get most of it anyway, so you'd be better off saving it up and giving it all in one lump.

That said I can't spoil Mrs FS enough.........(basically because she is all ready ruined)

We've got an arrangement, approx £200 on each other for Xmas & £150 + a slap-up meal for birthdays (this includes funds for presents to each other for our daughter).

I dont really see the giving of gifts as that important.

I really dont care if I dont recieve one card, present etc all Xmas.

Mrs DtS can have whatever she wants for Xmas but I cant see her wanting me to spend a lot which is a touch.

£400 seems like a lot to me but then Sam is minted so she can afford it.

me and the missus are going away for new year and so she brought the flights and i got the hotel, that's our presents for each other but im sure i'll fill her stockings as a pressie too!

One of the (many) reasons I loathe Christmas - forced to buy **** presents that nobody wants or needs.

For example, my niece's boyfriend bought her a chocolate fountain last year that I BET has spent all year in a cupboard gathering dust.

Waste of f**king money....roll on Jan 2nd.
