How long are we going to stay in the NL?

What’s different now is that, finally, we have new ownership, a new board, and executive management who actually seem to be building something. There's a long way to go, promotion from this league is notoriously brutal but for the first time in years, there’s a genuine foundation being laid. The frustration is understandable, but given where we’ve come from, it's a minor miracle we’re even still standing, let alone now looking upwards again.
Let’s hope this is the season the rebuild pays off.
This is why I have always been so keen to give the management team sufficient time. We have a sustainable structure in place that no longer relies on sacking the manager and if it still doesn't go well, rinse and repeat. Our owners are in it for the long haul and certainly the next decade should prove much more fruitful than the previous one.

This will be the start of our 5th season in the NL and the first one where we haven't had restrictions, embargos or problems to deal with. For me, the fanbase need to be really patient and supportive as otherwise, the negative energy from our large home crowds will be counter productive.

We need our fans to show the spirit shown at Rochdale and Forest Green, the home energy displayed in the league wins at RH against Oldham and Wealdstone and the examplary attitude displayed after losing at Wembley for when it doesn't go well.

We need to get off individual player's backs if they make a mistake or have a bad game. We need to stop calling "Maher out" if the team doesn't play well. We need to continue being the force that drives the club forwards, not a force that disrupts it and keeps it suppressed.

If it doesn't go well, never mind, there's always next game. We aren't going to go through the whole season unbeaten; it's going to happen, let's not be surprised when it does.

Will we get out this season? It'd be nice, wouldn't it? And wIth the nucleus of a play off final appearing team still here, 3 additions so far that certainly appear to strengthen the squad and almost certainly some move movement in and out before the end of the EFL window at the end of August, we are in as good a place as any team to be right up there. Why can't we win it?

We may not have the money that York and FGR have, but they don't have our (largely) brilliant fans.

This is the start of a new era. We are on the way back, of that I'm certain.
