I was really dissapointed when I heard that Rix was the new manager. What must Burley be thinking now, cos he's miles better than that dodgy bloke?
They would have a hard job seeing as it's next saturday[b said:Quote[/b] (Wessex Blue @ Nov. 10 2005,09:58)]Hopefully the Huns will exact their revenge on saturday enabling Hibs & Hearts to continue their assaults on the summit of the SPL[b said:Quote[/b] (Uxbridge Shrimper @ Nov. 10 2005,09:42)]But seriously....as someone who backed the Jambos in the 'betting without the Old Firm' market, this appointment has really hacked me off
I'm also nursing one helluva hangover following last night's Old Firm win for the Hoops. Jameson's on a school night, never a good idea....
All to do with Romanov doing an Uncle Vic and refusing to agree a defined bonus structure for any success that may come their way at the end of the season as well as (allegedly) Burley still having a bit of a booze problem![b said:Quote[/b] (shrimp_on_the_wing2003 @ Nov. 10 2005,14:07)]Thing is we dont know the whole story tho. He may have resigned for other reasons than stated etc!
Now here's a thought - will we able to catch the game in Nottingham before the Southend match?[b said:Quote[/b] (glasgowsufc @ Nov. 10 2005,14:07)]Nice to see you were celebrating James, lets hope the Super Hoops continue their current vein of form next Saturday!
Very good point, well made. Presumably there's at least one Irish pub in Nottingham that would show it.[b said:Quote[/b] (Uxbridge Shrimper @ Nov. 10 2005,14:36)]Now here's a thought - will we able to catch the game in Nottingham before the Southend match?[b said:Quote[/b] (glasgowsufc @ Nov. 10 2005,14:07)]Nice to see you were celebrating James, lets hope the Super Hoops continue their current vein of form next Saturday!
(I also need to find a bookies so I can catch the Betfair Chase!)
Vialli is still odds-on to be the new D of F at Tynecastle though.[b said:Quote[/b] (Wessex Blue @ Nov. 17 2005,09:48)]Hearts will never attract a top class manager while Romanov remains. He's got the money to make them a force but he clearly doesn't have a scooby about how to treat people.
Unfortunately not, got some one in doing my kitchen this weekend. To be honest the next match I'll make is the Southend - Bournemouth clash on New Year's eve.[b said:Quote[/b] (glasgowsufc @ Nov. 17 2005,10:25)]Vialli is still odds-on to be the new D of F at Tynecastle though.[b said:Quote[/b] (Wessex Blue @ Nov. 17 2005,09:48)]Hearts will never attract a top class manager while Romanov remains. (Off-topic) are you going to Forest Sat WB?
I have thought about that already.[b said:Quote[/b] (Wessex Blue @ Nov. 17 2005,11:31)]Was going to ask if the Scots exiles are coming down for the away match at Bournemouth in April? You can fly from Prestwick direct or to Southampton from Glasgow. Should be nice & cheap if you book early
then why not do the overnighter? The flights leave Edinburgh at 7.50am and the return flight leaves Bournemouth at 9.30am. If you book now you'll pay peanuts.[b said:Quote[/b] (glasgowsufc @ Nov. 17 2005,11:36)]I have thought about that already.[b said:Quote[/b] (Wessex Blue @ Nov. 17 2005,11:31)]Was going to ask if the Scots exiles are coming down for the away match at Bournemouth in April? It's a shame (for me) there's not a flight back up in the evening though, with a new baby I think my chances of weekends away are fairly limited for this season.
There's also a new route from Edinburgh to Bournemouth with Globespan (flights are 19p + tax just now).
I actually worked out I could fly to Bournemouth Sat am, watch the game, then go Ryanair to Dublin then change for a flight back to Edinburgh which gets in 10pm Sat night but it seems a right faff for 2 hours of football & 4 hours pre-match drinking!
I might try & negotiate a weekend away with the Mrs.[b said:Quote[/b] (Wessex Blue @ Nov. 18 2005,11:05)]then why not do the overnighter? I'm trying nto get my brother in law down for the match and i'm going to fly up for a Hibs game. At that price it'd be rude not to.
Next time I'm up that way It would be good to meet up for a match. Agree about Hibs, always good pre match atmos up there and some top boozers around Easter Road.[b said:Quote[/b] (glasgowsufc @ Nov. 18 2005,11:10)]I might try & negotiate a weekend away with the Mrs.[b said:Quote[/b] (Wessex Blue @ Nov. 18 2005,11:05)]then why not do the overnighter? One of my close friends is wanting me to go on his 4 night Stag to the Algarve though & I fear that will use up all my "leave from family" credits.
Really liked Easter Rd when I went last year for the Leeds pre-season friendly. Great pubs near the ground & pizza slice & chips for a bargain £2.50 inside
Yeah definitely, sounds good. I didn't like to say straight out in case it was a family only thing![b said:Quote[/b] (Wessex Blue @ Nov. 18 2005,11:26)]Next time I'm up that way It would be good to meet up for a match.
