Heartbreaking news -

Someone will be living on/shopping on the spot that Freddy scored that free-kick against Man U, Wayne Gray won us the League One Championship. Where Derrick Parker should have scored past Ray Clemence, where Brett Angell netted against Ouest Jambon. Where Mervyn Cawston made save after save. From the penalty spots that Alan Moody never missed from. Where Syd Broomfield spent countless hours nurturing and building the place. Where Stanley played. Where heroes, anti-heroes, villains, and comrades paraded their talents for over 50 years.

Derek Payne smacked........someone in the mouth...who was it that he hit???

I want to buy a piece of north bank terrace please! :p

Every Supporter, young and old, will miss Roots Hall, It has brought many memories to many supporters, like fantastic cup runs, beating premiership quality teams, back to back promotions and many more. But sometimes in life, we have to move on to better things in order to succeed in their future.
I will miss Roots Hall as much as everyone else will.

Memories

No mate you're not alone...I will miss the Hall too.
All those memories (and Im not as old as most on here), but it is time to move on.

Yes, agree

I am sure RM would sanction permission for photo/video records to be taken and relax any rules to enable pictorial records to be taken at some point.

No-one likes change but we have to move on - confront the future head on & embrace renewal of our vows at "The Shrimperdome"

That would be fab.......get a chair from the North Bank and put it on my summer house at the end of the garden.....I can then take my laptop down there and cheer the blues on singing were the North Bank of ..........

Indeed it will be a sad day when we leave the home of football and i'm sure there will a tear or two in the eye!

But we still have the memories and they can't be taken away!

Christ! I'm crying now. I will be uncontrollable in that last game. Can you all just imagine that last 10 minutes of that game - whoever it be against. Grown men will be reduced to a complete shambles.

David Speedie wasnt it?

I will miss the hall but not the wait to get out afterwards.. the godawful smell of stale burgers in the east.. the view from most of the west.. the fact that it used to be a fortress but just isnt anymore..

to the future

David (the c**t) Speedie

Ow yes, that is right....didn’t he have to jump up to hit him, just over by the tunnel.

A bit reminiscent of the scene from Mona Lisa when Bob Hoskin had to jump in the air to hit that guy on the pier

But surely once it became seating it was occupied by away fans.....

For me, Id like a seat from the east greens,... and a pillar.

i'd have East Stand Row A (as it was with the paddock) seat 3. My first season ticket was in that seat

cheers!
It is a wried day good news and sad news about leaving Rootshall. But the club is going forward and that is what matters

I want my seat bolted to my garden wall, mrs FS is still to be persuaded about this idea..

We are, historically, quite a nomadic team having 4 different homes in the first 50 years of existance, we started our 2nd 50 with a new home, and now we are starting our 3rd 50 with another new home (give or take a couple of years here and there)

The last game at RH will certainly be emotional but the thought of a potential new era for the club is equally stirring.
