Hattrick

If your excellent defender is 20 I would definitely sell him at his next pop as he'll take ages to train to outstanding once he's 21.

Or just get a YP like mine, current bidding £734k with 7 hours left

Good week for the Commoners in our league game at the weekend and midweek friendly. Not only did I score, but I scored away from home!! Just need to do something about the 9 goals I shipped in two games. Maybe I should stick all my money in a keeper.

Solid Wingers are great if you are training PM if they have inadequate PM as they are dirt cheap andpop to Solid in a couple of seasons. Then with 5 weeks winger training you have 3/4 players who is worth 200K+ for 2 1/2 seasons training on top of your PM trainees

How bad is your keeper??

I would suggest improving defenders and IMs

IMs are important as they restrict the chances the oppo have and increase your chances.

Maybe you could think about 4-5-1 as they would bolster your defence keep your midfield strong. From your stats your front line does not seem to bad for your level. Also if you are still suffering in the short term play your wingers towards middle.

Once you have bolstered your defence and IMs to a decent level then do not worry about the towards middle.

Feck. People pay some stupid prices for midfielders, they really do. I picked up a formidable for £460K and a magnificient for only £1.39m.

£1.2m for a formid?! Jeez, you jammy sod. I'll be lucky to make much more for any of my brilliant strikers...

Talking of inflated prices, my YP has now hit £867k. Got the deadline wrong earlier though, still another 4 hours to run. Would be nice to get to the £1m mark at this stage of the season!

Good grief. The world has gone mad...

He's not even a "last-week" pull - in other words, he doesn't benefit from the extra half-season as a 17 year-old, does he?

So, that Kortik bloke is paying almost £900K for a guy who will be 18 in a few weeks time. Madness.

And as my friendly isn't till 3am tomorrow morning, he won't even play a match this week!

The Kortrijk bloke bidding is obviously a bit unhinged. Presumably, Tomkins' value is inflated because he's also a potential clown.

But he's only a potential clown if you have no other players with solid leadership (given the secret HT high-solid / low-solid leadership thang).

The number of players in Kortrijk's side with solid leadership?

15

So, he's buying a potential clown (and thus paying over the odds for one), even though there's no guaranteeing that he will in fact be a clown. What a weirdo!

Alas, that's well beyond my budgetary constraints at the moment... sorry!

That's probably because I've been a buying, rather than a selling club recently. In the last 2 seasons I've spent £2,656,840 on transfers in, and recouped only £1,979,504 - a transfer deficit of £677,336. That I'm currently £250K in the black is, therefore, something I'm reasonably pleased about.

Alas, it means that I can't up the ante on young Tomkins...

Yeah... it's one big down-side to being a striker trainer, I reckon. You've only got a max of six training berths, so there's much less opportunity for rapid turnover, unless you decide to go for high-volume, low-margin purchases & sales.

As for me, I wanted to get my strikers up to at least brilliant and possibly higher... hence a far smaller volume in terms of my turnover.

Maybe it's not the right strategy, but I don't care. It's nice having a settled team!

Indeed - how do you report dodgy transfers to the GMs?
