Harry Potter actor stabbed to death - SUFC youth team player injured

Has the electric chair / death penalty stopped murders in the States ? No. We have a 5 year prison sentence in the UK for knife possession ,I beleive, but we do not have politicians who prioritise the building of more prisons over fighting other peoples wars ! We need a revolution.

I don't mind revolting. Are you revolting with me ? :)

Well done Sherif! I too think that national service (not so much capital punishment) will get rid of the chav generation, init! get well soon Tommy H

well done to hopkins

but must agree with everyone who suggested bringing back capital punishment and the birch !!!

our punishments in this country are a joke and no wonder this country is in the s*** and people keep re offending go to prison for a cheap holiday

RIP Robert Knox

Our thoughts are with your family and friends at this time of your great loss.

Well done to Tom Hopkins for going to the assistance of one of his mates, that takes a lot of bottle especially when he attacker had two knives.

But capital punishment has a 100% success rate. No-one who was sentenced to capital punishment re-offended...

Such a shame that so many who dangled at the end of a rope turned out not to have been guilty then.... Simplistic answers are not the answer to complex problems.

I tell you, if you hanged the next person who commited a crime like this, it would stop instantly

That has got to be one of the most naive statements I have ever read on this board – and that’s going some.

Their may be an arguable case for ‘punishment fits the crime’, but if what you’re saying is true, then the last time capital punishment was in use, they must have only punished one person because then, all murders ceased. Did the flood gates only then open once hanging was abolished?

I think not.

This thread was really about paying respect to the loss of life and - from an SUFC perspective - the bravery of one of our youth team players. I think the thread should get back on subject as this is something that should be seen by as many readers as possible.

The merits or otherwise of capital punishment should then be discussed in The Pub.
