Harrold off to Doncaster?

Nope sorry I dont buy this. No one has ever denied that he tries hard and we all know that he gave it his all. The bottom line is that he turned out to be utter cack and doesnt have a place at the club anymore.

Its best for everyone that he moves on. Good luck to him where ever he goes.

So despite his fellow professionals rating him highly, Tilly and Brush rating him highly, some of the more level-headed posters on here arguing calmy and rationally that he was adding a lot more to the team than he was being given credit for, and now managers from three or four clubs all showing serious interest in him, he is still "utter cack".

It couldn't, just possibly, be (not the slightest chance, of course not) that this is a witch hunt by those who have supreme and unshakeable confidence in their own judgement and no respect for the judgement of others?

No.

Didn't think so.

Oh well. So long Matt, and good luck.

Now for Revell.....

Fair play, i mean I have always had a joke about Harrold but tbf to the lad he did a lot of the donkey work for the clarkes etc and after watching all the 07/08 gols on youtube, he did set up quite a few considering the relartively short spell he had in the team. He has always seemed like a nice lad, always given 100% for the club and I have got a nasty feeling that if he gets into form at another club, he may just come back and bite us. Good luck Harry!

I'm sure if Tilly and Brush rated him highly they wouldnt have transfer listed him and he would have been involved in the squad a lot more in the last few months than he has.
Im sure most of the interest in him is down to potential, he could become a better player (some might say he couldnt get worse) in the future playing in the right system for him to excel.

Personally i didnt think he was good enough to be one of our 2 starting strikers, and as hard as he trys and always gave 100%, my opinion was that he wasnt good enough to be a L1 striker in the here and now.

Football is a results business and if someone wants to have the time and patience to wait for him to bloom into this all conquering striker, fair play and good luck to them.

T&B rate him very highly but keeping on playing him was just ****ing into the wind now, because Harrold is a confidence player and he has none left.

Southend fans have no proper appreciation of the role that players like Bradbury, Harrold, and now Revell are expected to fill in Tilly's teams, and as a result the first two got more than their fair share of abuse, and Revell is well on his way to the same treatment from the same select group of experts.

I'm certain a high % of footballers are confidence players - but its how you deal with it that makes the difference between those that will go far in the game and those that wont.
It didnt look to me like he was struggling that much with a lack of confidence as he was still asking for the ball and to quote "giving 100%". If he was, in my opinion, struggling for confidence then he would have gone hiding in games and not looking to receive the ball.
In the games i saw him play he didnt look good enough to be a striker in L1. That said i dont think that Peter Crouch is any good either and he plays for England.

I could find a whole team of confident players, who could give 100% every week on this messageboard - doesnt make them good enough to play professional football though.
