Who was the greater Southend legend?

H Halse before everyone time of course, but going for him if only for his scoring record, i believe its somthing silly like 90 odd goals in 60 games for Southend. Then transfered to Man Unt for about 350 pound, and went on to score a fair few for them as well.

Who worked perfectly in tandem with Stuart Parker, they formed a formidable striking pair in that 75/76 season, and yes, he had a mullet (as opposed to Silvo who could have been a distant relative of Scott Spencer's!)

So formidable we were relegated!

I believe Mark Salter had a similar goalscoring record from Frome Town.

Apart from number one, in no particular order.

Billy Best
Bill Garner
Stuart Brace
Steve Phillips
Richard Cadette
Stan Collymore
Freddy Eastwood
Peter Silvester
Ray Smith
Eddie Firmani
Chris Guthrie
Gary Moore
Brett Angell
Derek Spence
Shaun Goater
Lee Barnard
Keith Mercer
Mike Beesley
Leon Constantine
Roy McDonough

no mooney?

I don't know what is more concerning, Harry including Donut but missing off David Crown (and Benji) or Napster not noticing:nope::(

hahaha- I'm sure I saw Crowny and Benji on there. My eyesight's finally getting the better of me.

But that was not the fault of the forwards, in a season in which we scored 74 goals and got to the 5th round of the FA Cup, it was a defence that included top legend Alan Moody that let in 82 goals. We won 12 games that season, and drew 12.

Here though Halse is a name etched in our history so despite a distinct fondness towards Stuart PArker, I have to vote with my head on this occasion.

I doubt there's anyone alive(and on here)who's seen Harrold Halse play.
What is the point of these sort of comparisons?
