He would also like to finally play at right-back, bearing in mind he has been at the club three and a half years, and has still not played there...

I dont doubt anything you have said here, I saw Che chatting to a couple of guys in the far post bar after the game, maybe this was you..?

What seems strange though is he says he is fully fit and yet the official site yesterday reports he has suffered a recurrence of an old injury and is therefore unfit?!

You have it from the horses mouth so to speak that he is fit. I am therefore inclined to think this is the case. So what is going on here....??
I only chatted to the Super Cheese for a couple of minutes (at about ten past ten), so the two blokes weren't me...

When it comes to reports about injured players, I always take these with a pinch of salt anyway...

I agree that Hammell was not great last night but anyone suggesting he should be dropped for Che is for my mind being hysterical.

Che would be ripped apart at this level as he was at the last level and to a lesser degree the level before that.

I suggest the problem is not so much Steve Hammell but is the pathetic support defensivley he gets from the G-Man.

I love Gower when on form but he is such a tempramental player and when form is low he can be poor.

Hammell is a massive improvement on Che and one of our best players in my book.

Good point re Gower DtS. Gower completely switched off after he helped put us 1-0 up.

Good point re Gower, exactly the type of problem Che had for two seasons!

There goes another rib........

Just think of the midfield we could have if suggested we move Hammell to the left wing, Hammell, Clarke, May Day Maher & Francis. all the attacking threat of a toothless poodle. Complete sh!te!!

Bring back JCR! His crossing may be a bit ropey at times, but at least he covers the ground quickly & chases back, which is more than can be said than a few others. Our defence would be a lot stronger if the midfield helped out, but apart from Maher, the midfield gives up & stroll back.

I think our best formation would be a 4-4-1-1, which may seem a bit negative, but may help in stopping the big gaps in the middle of the pitch, where seem to get out numbered all the time.

Who plays in the 4-4-1-1 formation is a matter of discussion. Perhaps:

Flavs
Francis Sodje Barrett/Clarke Hammell
GOWER Smith Maher JCR
Eastwood
Harrold

Most of the selections speak for themselves, Gower on the right for once, so he doesn't lose momentum after he beats a player. Eastwood likes to play deep & would better suited to feeding of Harrold that vice versa! Smith, he can't be any worse than any of the others in there, plus he has a point to prove!!

What do you reckon??

How about this -

If Tilly ever picks Wilson ahead of Hammell for reasons other than injury / resting the player etc, I will donate £20 to a charity of your choice.
