Gus Poyet

I have had a short chat with a Sunderland player and it appears that they have a host of players brought in under the previous regime, including by Dicanio, and that S'land employed a "expert" talent seeker who got in loads of players from Europe over and outside of any managers say so.
Nearly all of these "players" are being paid etc but are not deemed good enough to warm the bench.
Poyet is covering his bases and keeping his options open; plus spreading the blame background story if they do go down.

You needn't have spoken to a Sunderland player for that, the club sacked Roberto de Fanti last month having deemed him responsible for the shower of **** at the club and replaced him with Lee Congerton, who was one of Chelsea's chief scouts. Poyet's proved himself not too dissimilar from Di Canio in my opinion... He'll come in and initially get results by ruffling a few feathers, but long-term is a poisonous appointment. That might work if you're Jose Mourinho and deliver results, but people tend to tire of you considerably quicker if there's little apparent value in your bellendery.

And Poyet's comments about helping Suarez last night would've angered me no end if I was a Sunderland fan. You're in a relegation battle that you're favourites to lose, and you're banging on about helping someone unrelated to the club out? No thanks.
