Grant's Contract Terminated

BaronVonAvram.jpg

I'd say he could go back to his old job in Dangermouse

I know we've discussed this at length on the Slipperduke thread - but now it's happened im slightly furious...even though i detest Chelsea!! The man dragged them up into contention for the league, champions league, carling cup - and gets the chop. Absolute bollox if you ask me. Slipper made a good point from the media and sponsorship standpoint of him being, well, too boring to market the brand that is Chelsea on interviews etc. but i didn't think he would be sacked still.

He's been treated abysmally, but that wasn't his team who were in contention for the league, the champions (sic) l€agu€ and the fizzy cup; that was Mourinho's team. He held things together, but no more. It was far more disgraceful to sack Mourinho.

He has been treated really badly and ambramovic has becone a bit of a joke tbh. However, i reckon this is all paving the way for Rijkard to become their new manager.

Oh and btw, he looks more like Jabba the hut methinks :)

As far as I am concerned football at the highest level stinks to high heaven. The rich continue to get richer and we've already gone the way of franchising at 3 English clubs now. If Abramovich walks away some other consortium will step in. English football has gone the way of Spanish and Italian where coming second is failure. When Fergie and Wenger go their clubs will treat management in exactly the same way.

What we need is for these 10 or so teams to form a European breakaway league and for UEFA and FIFA to then ban them from cup and international eligbility.

i seem to be in a minority but I can only see this trend continuing and ending in disaster for little clubs like ours.

Bloody shocking to be honest, he has done a really good job with all the **** he has had. He should never have been given the job in the first place, as he aways going ot be sacked. I think he might have been even if they had won the CL

Whats next for Chelsea and Abramovich then, new guy comes in next season on multi million pound contract, signs top players for big money, wins nothing. Sacked perhaps?

Perhaps Abramovich should take a note out of Ron Noades book and pick the team himself.

Grant wouldn't have been sacked if he was a big name manager, If they'd got Rijkaard in to replace Mourinho he would have been given the summer and blank chequebook to build the team.

I think there is one obvious name to replace Grant at Chelsea.

You want a manager with special qualities, someone who has won the biggest prizes going (League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions (sic) L€agu€), someone who has successfully worked with the players at Chelsea before.

Best of all, he's currently available.

I give you: Jose Mourinho.

apparently the poor sod is now in line to work as Shinatwra's Boss at City... talk about out of the frying pan into the fire!

Indeed, he managed all that with a team that wasn't even his. Heaven knows what he could achieve if he was given the summer to build his own team.
