Giving Up the Fags

still got a packet around the place as well, if they are there it takes another potential stress point for me out of the situation. And that is the crucial point for me, the crutch effect a fag gives.

I did this too, it stopped that feeling you got when you knew there were none in the house. Cravings are always worse when you know there's no chance of having one at that particular moment. Eventually threw the packet (and 3 or 4 cigarettes inside) away.

I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks but plan to start using e cigarettes when I get back. Less money and far better for your lungs and taste and smell. I think for smokers these are the future.

Hopefully I will eventually give up but with life's stresses and long working hours it's a hard habit to break.

Tommy you are just putting it off. Do it before you go if you are serious.

Day 2. After being released from the cells, I'm up before the beak next week for assault and battery. Nah not really. Actually, these e-cigs have really helped. Keeping the cravings down to a minimum and surprisingly for me, no temper tantrums or paddy fits. Binned the patches though, sodding things keep falling off. And I'll also be in profit after tomorrow with the savings so it's all good at the mo.

Hows this going AL ?

Personally I have slipped a bit, but a pack of 10 is lasting about a week and a half , so it has its days....

I have not smoked since Jan 82 , I used to smoke 80 - 100 a day . I had brochial asmah about 2 years before and the doctor told me that all the time that I smoked every time I got a cold it would go on my chest .Laying on the settee in Jan 82 I could feel my chest starting to get tight and remembered how I felt a couple of years before, so I gave my last packet of fags to my wife and said that is it no more , after a week or so I could taste how good cheese tasted and I started to drink bitter because I could taste how great it was , it was a whole new world of tastes and smells . PS my wife stopped smoking too .

Been on the e cigarettes for 3 weeks now and haven't smoked a proper fag once. Go myself coffee flavour and won't go back now. Still get the odd craving but saving money and not damaging my health anywhere near as much.
